I'm gonna be the crazy guy in the room to say there aren't *really* many high roller bourbons. The stratospheric prices bottles of bourbon have been driven to, do not guarantee quality. The quality is

Sitting here sipping CEHT SINGLE BARREL thinkng hard about walking a block to my local store and dropping another $80 for the straight rye. I caved....

I am really into drinking and collecting high end, limited edition and rare bourbons.  Here are a few pics of some of my collection: (Bookers, Booker's 25th - I have 10 sealed bottles, George T S

Be tough to find the bookers 30th. I couldn’t even get it locally. Every bottle went out during the release event. Secondary market is commanding a very high premium for it.

It hasn't hit Virginia yet. My only chance is via the lottery. I'm hopeful because I have been extremely lucky in those so far.  Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

I haven’t done lottos to get bottles but it’s extremely common in Kentucky. I live about 20 minutes from the beam distillery. My fathers a 30 year employee there. He told me “good luck”. Lol

I’ll add... He’s sent me pictures of cases and cases of it in the shipping department. Just downright depressing.

My brother lives in Lexington. I thought it would be easier to find rare stuff being so close to where it's made. WRONG! Most of what's made is shipped everywhere else. Still can find some things only sold in Kentucky, but usually nothing all that special to be honest.

Good Luck on getting a bottle of the Booker's 30th.

I am glad I was lucky to obtain 12 bottles of the Booker's 25th and I still have 10 untapped bottles of it. ?

He can't purchase any?????

He can purchase it from the gift shop like any other joe schmo. A few times a year, they’ll do giveaways. They’ll label boxes with a number and fill the boxes with random stuff then they’ll draw numbers and receive the corresponding box. Often time he’s gotten some good stuff in the giveaways.

Wow you're right, that is incredibly depressing. Maybe they realize that if they did allow employee purchases, they'll all just end up flipping the bottles and making $$ off them. Who knows.

That’s whatever one does these days with everything. Cigars. Bourbon. The latest and greatest electronics. Everyone’s out to make a buck.

Nobody forces anyone to buy... but for many, the desire to be first on the insta or to have a complete collection to show off is greater than their common sense. You hardly ever see anyone drink or smoke their latest HTF purchase. Free market economy, I guess.

She did good, that is one of my favorite BIB bourbons and it comes at a very reasonable price.

I drink everything in my liquor cabinet and smoke everything in my humidor.  I’m not leaving it for someone else to drink or smoke.

People over paying for anything isnt isn’t my prerogative.  I could care less.  Just stating a FACT.
