El Presidente Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 Has anyone seen these first hand? Let us know your thoughts Screwpop® Tool to offer redesigned of cigar cutter “Chopo™ POSTED BY: JEREMY HORST Screwpop® Tool to offer redesigned of cigar cutter “Chopo™” The latest in compact and highly functional tools, Screwpop® introduces – Chopo™ Cigar Cutter, a reengineered force in cigar cutting technology. Chopo™ is the successor of the original Screwpop® Cigar Cutter with a few major improvements. First, the Eyelet has been generously enlarged that puts the pivot motion closer to the cutting circle. Second, two ultra-thin washers have been added (one each side) to further minimize blade separation and to additionally prevent less wear on the Eyelet mechanism. A few other key improvements are in the materials and methods of fabrication. Chopo™ is made from high quality ultra flat 420 J2 (Japanese) stainless steel. Additionally, CNC manufacturing aids in helping with a few finishing touches that ensures the cutter fully closes and is virtually perfectly flat, in light of the 90 degree bends that dub as both finger and thumb grips. Like it’s predessesor, Chopo™ includes a well-placed bottle opener for those who enjoy pairing a fine cigar with micro-brews. Chopo™ is available for pre-order on Screwpop’s website: www.screwpoptool.com. It will also be available on Amazon.com, soon to follow. Blades — 420 J2 sharpened stainless steel Eyelet — Yellow Brass Weight — 2oz Size — 1/8 inch x 1.5 inch x 3 inch Price — $24.95 Release Date — June 15, 2018 Intellectual Property Status — patented USPTO (design patent)
retrofail Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 So, does that thing just flop all the way open? I have zero experience with Screwpop.
BuzzArd Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 I ordered one a few minutes ago. (My wife says thanks, Rob, but I’m sure she doesn’t mean it). Will report back once it arrives. 1
foursite12 Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 Apparently, "preventing less wear" on the mechanism is a good thing.

BBS Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 I've had a Palio and a Xikar for better than a decade. Still working great. Not enamored with this one, you guys have fun.
LGC Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 No worries, they will include a keychain bandage holder for an extra $5.89
Popular Post BuzzArd Posted June 22, 2018 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2018 Well, no ckeychain bandage holder included, but they did include a keychain screwdriver/beer bottle opener for prep. Bandage holder would have to be purchased in the ambulance on the way to the clinic I presume, assuming one doesn’t exanguinate on the way. Larger than I expected it to be, pictured here with a RASS. Figured if it ruined this cigar I wouldn’t be heartbroken.... It would likely be a decent “keep on the back porch table” or “VW ashtray” accessory. Blades are polished nicely, and there’s even a bit of leftover polish compound hanging around to prove they actually used it. Did a fair job of cuting the head of his stick, but my Xikar cutters are sharper, albeit at more than twice the price. Time will tell if I fall in love with it, but at my age I think I’m all out of love in general.... 4 1
