Popular Post prodigy Posted June 2, 2018 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2018 I woke up this morning, made my latte, and spent a little while deciding on what smoke to grab for this weekend review competition. I've only ever had 2 cola prior to this one, so I decided to give it a go. The first one was from the Christmas sampler. It was plugged like a tent pole. Even the perfectdraw did nothing to help. Second was a gift, and was better in the sense that it was actually smokeable, but it was also very very tight. This 3rd one was from a box pass, and was a perfect example of what a cola should be! Hay, lemon, barnyard, and cream set the stage at light up. Perfect draw, perfect burn. The flavors intensity ramp up with every puff. I'm surprised at how creamy the smoke is, and the flavor just lingers on and on after exhaling. Throughout the experience I had a few moments of ginger bread come and go, it was glorious! Then in the final third, the cream flavor was the most intense I've ever experienced. I can only compare it to an actual creamsicle ice cream. Smoked it until my fingers burned, then took one more puff for good measure. If only boxes weren't so hard to find, and so darn expensive! I feel they are worth the price of admission. I decided to assemble my new cordless weed eater while enjoying this smoke on the porch. Too much to get done this weekend to just sit around for 2 hours with nothing getting done! Enjoy your weekend and smoke em if you got em! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk 12
Islandboy Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Your description mirrors my one and only Cola so far, from the Christmas sampler - it was mind blowingly good. Happy to hear you finally got your hands on a winner. Now the hunt begins
David88 Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Great work with the review! I have a box of AMO Oct 16 waiting for me in the locker, I'm looking forward to bringing them out now
Canoli Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 I have a box from same date as well looking forward to breaking into them later this year.
Winchester21 Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 When they are on they are great. I typically steer clear due to risk/reward. Long skinny’s can tend to be tight. Never buy blind. 1
Danimalia Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Oh man, I would want to mail a big bag of rats to Habanos SA if I got plugged CoLas. For the money they charge for those, they ought to be ashamed. Not that it's excusable with any other cigar, either, but still. Glad you were finally able to get a good experience. This is still on my cigar bucket list. 1
patrick_harmon44 Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Nice review of the smoke and experience. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Artin Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I've had two, one around 6 months ago which had a lot of haystack flavor. The second one I had was about a week or two ago and it had a decent amount of cream. I love the gauge. I've noticed long skinnies require a bit from the smoker in the beginning to get the ball rolling but after that it's great. I found out recently that COLA's are one of the oldest still in production Cohiba's..
