If I'm in the room, everyone else is safe. @PapaDisco This question may seem out of left field... what blood type are you? I have O+ blood, and I'm routinely the mosquito magnet in any outdoor setting. I read some study a while ago which made the case for mosquitoes being attracted to individuals with certain blood types, mainly O.

Interesting theory.
BuzzArd
I grew up in Florida. Lots of mosquitoes. Moved to Houston. As many mosquitoes, but now they’re the size of a Beechcraft. Moved to Arizona. That worked. Still see some, but they’re few and far between. Give it a try. YMMV
clickbangdoh
I live in Florida, and mosquitos love to go after me. I've only found two things that work. DEET or those allerthin candles/lanterns like the Off mosquito lanterns. Those have a pad that is impregnated with the chemical, then you slowly vaporise by heating it over the candle. They last about 4 hours, but they do work. Theres a thing called a Thermacell that hunters use that's the same basic principle but more portable. Citronella candles and torches are for chumps, they do absolutely nothing, at least with the Florida variety, maybe other mosquito populations keep away. Thig
Probably not the most environmental friendly solution but I have Arrow Exterminators treat around our house for mosquitoes and never have a problem with them. Not sure what they use but it works. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
GavLew79
I don't remember them being in the UK when I was young. As an adult, they are the bane of my summer. I get what is called an LLR. Large Localised Reaction. Basically if one of the pricks bites me I swell up full of fluid over a large area (probably about 30cm in diameter) and get a red, angry, itchy-as-f*** scab. One bite takes 15-20 days to heal. They normally get me in my sleep, when it's hot and my limbs are out of the covers. Sometimes 2 or 3 bites a night. ? My wife, they leave untouched. I would pay good money to decimate every single one of the f***era from the face of the planet.

The heat coming off the swelling could cook an egg.
Str8BlkCoffee
Purple Martins. Get some gourds or some man-made houses. You need to line them with mud to attract them faster and they like to nest together which is why you see large apt looking bird houses. Bat Boxes work well too.

cigcars
*Spread some Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil on your arms, neck, face and person. Neither mosquitos or anything else bug biting will bother you.
