Straight up Lusi GR for $15 all day. Make it a DC & I would buy nothing else. 100 boxes in the Aristocrat & it would be nirvana.

That reminds me that there was a Cohiba Double Corona Limited Edition released in 2003. Good luck trying to source one of those!

I'm not sure how to answer that, but I do think something of the "album programming" (running order) would be lost with the "compilation album" approach you describe, if I can continue the analogy too far. For me, the development of tar and residue over the length of a DC are sufficient to effect change and development, even assuming none is inherent in the leaf or blend (which it is, anyway, in both cases). Also, the bunch in a DC is typically made of longer leaves; creating a tri-partate blend of shorter leaves to do this three-bunch approach could be terribly wasteful (although I'd happily puff away on that "waste" any day).

Anyway, if you're saying what I think you're saying, yes- I prefer to listen to a "whole album statement" rather than a handful of hit singles or a weekend rock-block.  :D

Sorry, no I was referring to a 'concept album' as opposed to compilation album.  i.e. Marvin Gaye's "Whats going on" is comprised of 9 tracks but the work and flow into each other seamlessly.

My point was (loosely) DC's usually operate within a single key. i.e if it were based on the colour blue, it would be all different shades of blue.  To take that metaphor further, my slight criticism of the limitations of the current DC blending is.  It would be nice to see transitions that were varied but not schizophrenic. i.e

pastel blue.......to........sky blue........to............royal blue........to........violet........to........crimson......to......red       etc etc etc.

Now, i'm not advocating making rainbow cigars, but to me if there was a DC that smoked like three complimentary petit coronas, I think that would be ideal.

May I suggest you try a Boli CJ: Not always, and much to my dismay certainly not the most consistent stick coming out of Cuba these days, - but - the best of them a true tour de force: starting out Boli, going over an Upmann/Trini complexity into a sort of last-third-Sig-I brutalness.... haha :D. Dunno how they accomplish it but it shows it doesn't need a long cigar for a great evolutionary experience.

That being said, the Lusitanias has always been the least loved DC for me. More often than not leaving me behind bored. Perhaps it's indeed an effect of focus, as Colt sais, but I often feel they lack in the evolution department.

Beat me to it, although I was going to say I’d prefer to build a dalia (my fave).

1. Partagas 898

2. Partagas 898

3. Partagas 898

It’s already perfect.
