Wertman
Hey guys while I have not had a Medio siglo yet. Seeing clearance day on Monday the CoRO was 379 which is the price of the Medio Siglo. What advantage would there be buying them over the CORO? Are they a better smoke? If it's a time thing could I just not smoke 3/4 of the CORO? Just wondering opinions. Thanks guys.
prodigy
Completely different flavors imo. The prices here shouldn't influence the way you are thinking about it. The pricing here is way better than anywhere else, especially on clearance. Anyone that doesn't like the medio siglo more than likely smoked a dud, they are phenomenal. jerrybrowne
I find them to be pretty different flavor profiles tbh. Medio Siglo has stronger flavors and more nicotine. It’s a strong cigar. The robusto is more mild and easier going.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 3
canadianbeaver
Cannot think of flavour words off the top of my head but we love the Medio Siglo cigars in the current year, unconditionally. CoRo, we prefer with a couple of years or more. Hope that helps a bit? CB
Wertman
That helps a lot looking for a smoke now cigar. So I will have to pick these up when I can.
prodigy
Some of you on this thread are clearly confused. Robusto is from the core Clasica line. Medio Siglo is from the Linea 1492 line, which is milder than the core line. Habanos is clear about this and it's obvious once anyone with a halfway decent palate smokes the two. With the exception of the Medio Siglos made in El Laguito, most of them from other factories are poorly made. And because of poor construction, most of them burn hot, causing them to taste harsh. That's not the same thing as strength. Robustos are stronger with way more body, but without the harshness of poorly made Medio Siglos from an inferior factory. Do not mistake harshness with strength That's what's causing this unnecessary confusion. By and large, Cohiba Robustos are a better smoke while Medio Siglos join the ranks of H. Upmann, Partagas, Hoyo and other brands producing inconsistent half robustos that often burn hot and taste like a garbage fire. Are we reading the same posts? Literally everyone said the flavor profile is different?Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
mbflash80
Medio siglo is stronger than the CORO in my opinion...its a great cigar but its not a great value...they both can be great cigars...
havanaclub
On a side note, there may be some confusion on “stronger” and body. A Medio Siglo could be Fuller in body (flavour) but not as much strength as CoRo. Maybe this is what people mean in previous posts. If anyone feels the need to comment in the above manner, find another forum. To my palate, the Medio Siglo is fuller in body than the Cohiba Robusto. A very different cigar sharing more characteristics with the Siglo IV. Personally I love them. You just need to get them at a decent price point in comparison with the CORO (8-10% less justifies it for me).

NSXCIGAR
I also have found the MS a bit "fuller"--I guess I could say stronger too. I don't put much stock in the argument that as it's part of the Siglo line it's mellower. HSA's new additions run the gamut and don't always follow the line profiles established decades ago. I find the Siglo VI to be much fuller and richer than all the other Siglos--not just a larger format Siglo I-V. The Hoyo San Juan is technically part of the Le Hoyo line which also was designed to be lighter and more refined but I don't think it fits the rest of the remaining Le Hoyos. Same with the Partagas Serie line. I find the P2 to be much different than the D4, D5, D6 and E2 which have much more in common with each other. I have always found the CoRo to be the most mellow of all the Linea Clasicas anyway, which is why I've never liked it and much prefer the MS to the CoRo in general. The vitola of the MS is less than ideal for me, however. Not a fan of the short Canonazo.
Wertman
Thanks everyone. El Prez post about fishing with his son and smoking the Medio siglo got me thinking about them and then thought about the price. I watched some reviews but not a compare and contrast of the two together. Except for the mean guy everyone nailed it and made it a lot more expensive now I need one of each. Thanks guys love you all
