Por Larranga Montecarlo TOS May 16

1st Third

Good from get go. Carmel? Mild sweet cedar. Toasted marshmallow. Moving back to cedar at end of 1st third. Minor run about patched itself up. Paired first part with Kona and it works just fine

2nd Third

Deeper flavor coming thru but it hid quickly. Thought marshmallow was coming out. Cedar prevailing. Mid way I switched to drinking a cardamom tea. Does coat throat with a bit of sweetness but still cedar.  Ah toasted marshmallow coming back.

Last Third

Toffee or Carmel trying to show. Nicotine just ramped up. Brief Cedar / toasted marshmallow taste. Aroma is almost a little burnt sugar or toffee. Flavor in mouth is like I had toasted Carmel cotton candy. Cedar emerging at the end. One last pull and the toasted Carmel marshmallow is back. Nice way to finish

40 mins

i just wanted to add that this is a wonderful stick.  My second from the box and I can’t wait to lay down a little longer and see how the cedar mellows out.  I feel it will use that edge to give toasted Carmel or marshmallows to a greater degree.  I’ll reserve giving this a rating # but it was very nice.  Take a cab of 100.

I love the Montecarlos with this code. I already finished a box of them, and I loved them despite their youth. I don't expect they would taste much different with significantly longer aging, they are delicious as it. I'm now smoking from a 2017 box and they are very tasty too.

Nice review, PLMC is tied with RG Perlas as the best relatively cheap cigar Habanos produces bar none.

Looks like I got lucky with the box code on my recent acquisition

My luck the quality went straight downhill from May to Sep

I don't know that you have to worry about that. Montecarlos seem to be beloved by just about all who try them and don't mind a thin cigar. You can count me in that group. They're a top quality Cuban cigar at a cheap and cheerful price.

Landed in London today for a few days of business meetings next week. Dropped by a noted local cigar merchant, paid for the high tobacco tax, and smoked my first Montecarlo. Excellent smoke, simply lovely. With a box of PLPC already inbound, will have to add a box or Montecarlo's soon.

I wouldn't wait very long on these! Let them acclimate to your humi and fire one up! These are perfect young! I’m on my 3rd PLMC in the last 18 hours here right now! From TOS FEB 17 box

Will do.  I have zero patience

I’m smoking one of the Alex Piramides now that I just picked up from him last Friday

Should have dry boxed it, but it still has a razor sharp burn
