In one comment he said he would avoid DC's, the other he says it is the least impact.  Plenty of ambiguity.

He never in his comments said to “avoid DC’s”. What I think Rob was doing was making an example that it would really suck to lay down 700 for a 50 cab of DC blind only to get candela wrappers.

He could have said I wouldn’t wanna lay down 110 on a box of BCJ for candela wrappers. But that wouldn’t be as powerful of a statement.

Overall he was saying that in his vast experience in opening thousands of boxes in 2017 (16/17) stock, it was his opinion that this was the worst wrapper quality since 98.

So which is it.  DC's are the least impacted or stay away!  I say buy because I've seen nothing but top notch DC's.

As I alluded to in my OP, the subjectivity that surrounds the term “Quality” is immense IMO. I don’t think it's nearly as black and white as this^. After all, there’s nothing extremely scientific going on here (with the possible exception of the contributions of @PigFish:lol3:), it’s all a bunch of opinions, along with exceptions to those opinions. That said, I think it’s safe to say that Prez has his finger on the pulse of this far more intensely than most of us, so I take his opinion with a bit more confidence. I too have received some stellar DC’s recently, but I had the luxury of our Commander in Chief weeding out the rubbish for me. Which also tells me that year-to-year quality issues go largely unnoticed by we who are spoiled by the business model here. Sounds to me like "least affected" still means it was a lot easier to find quality wrappers in years past.

Exactly this. I also read it as don’t spend big $$$ buying blind

Too many underfilled cigars for my liking.

I agree. Out of my 16 and 17 boxes anywhere from 2-6 are easily underfilled. With the exception of my PSP RyJ Churchills and CoRo.

Don't know if this is a poor quality....but it is a different quality for sure

I bet the color sorter at the factory was thrilled to come to work that day...wow.

Send them to me...I will save you from these "low" quality smokes!

No way :P

I actually bought these on purpose because as sick as this may sound: I kind of like them.
I'm curious how they will compare to the other boring box I have...
Most likely no difference in a blind tasting, because in the past I could never ever taste any difference in regards to wrapper color.
