Texas auto deaths may break 3200 this year, with much related to text/ phone use while driving. State passed law on texting mid-year.
Goes back to my original post on the use of paint guns. Mark the idiots emoji51.png

Very true@Squarehead .. Very true..
The hands free calling is a step in the right direction. Text/ messaging of any kind while driving is down right dangerous IMHO ... My family has that auto lock- down feature on their cells (as I do) which deters cell use while traveling over 15mph.
Can't help the rest of the world but can improve my family's odds of avoiding Incident.
Still paint guns would be Interesting

Well it happens about every 10 years or so... We had snow! Galveston to Houston got flakes starting just after midnight. At 0430 my truck had about 2" of powder
My 65mile drive to work was better on me than alot of other folks but I have time behind the wheel in Colorado above 8000' and run pretty agressive tires on my vehicle.
Not a good day for.... Texting

Was flipping through some of my albums that I want to transfer to digital format some day and came across this Welsh group that was Banned in the USA (1971).
They were Not ready for what later is considered Heavy Metal.
But the group was named after a cute little bird ... Budgie
Why ban them?c74abd5bd63210ce4791a7ddc7d67ecd.jpg

One forAkela3rd
Anyone with a song entitled Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman was going to get banned in the US, obviously.
I was a bit young for Budgie but will certainly give them a listen now -the joy of Spotify.

Here’s a little known fact: we get snow here on Maui more frequently than you. Roughly once every 2 or 3 years, the summit of Haleakala receives a dusting. This happens when a powerful enough cold-front roots through, and certain other conditions are met. It usually all melts the same day though.

And of course, Mauna Kea on the Big Island remains mostly covered in at least some snow each winter.

Being 10degrees lower Latitude than us; that is interesting - but guess the elevations are the big factor
The neighborhood kids wasted no time rushing out to build snow"persons"

Oh boy, don’t even get me started. I actually witnessed a young woman barrel obliviously through a red light, coming in the opposite direction as me while I had the green left turn arrow to cross her path. Of course her phone was being held above the steering wheel with one hand. Luckily I saw from a distance that she wasn’t likely to even notice the traffic light. Didn’t even phase her, even after the deed was done.

Mobile phone [Cell phone to the yanks] usage while driving is rampant here. I'd be a billionaire if I had a dollar for every time I see someone texting/ reading/posting while driving.

I am not easily intimidated since that Day!

However probably as a result- during the holidays, I opt out of eating them 3e7727cbbfcccf255dbe27dc4ff438b0.jpg

These are truly amazing times. Consider this: when the air pressure on any of the tires on my truck drops below a certain threshold, not only does this information instantly and wirelessly appear on my dashboard display, I receive a freakin’ email telling me which tire is in need of attention. No human interaction involved. Is that scary or what?

This video shows some of the training we go through - if you survive the actual helicopter hitting the water part, it helps to be able to get out if you sink....

@Islandboy, great video, we had everyone on my company's management team view this video (the owner of the company I work for really has a problem with millennials). I am a millennial and I cring at the fact that this really is a representation of many of my "peers."

When I was a kid we dreamed of many Cool devices an events to possibly expect in the future.
My favorite magazines that kept that stoked was Popular Science & Practical Mechanics....
