Nino Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 You can believe this blatant BS ( posted a day before Irma hit Havana ... ) : Saturday, September 9, 2017 CUBAN CIGARS DESTROYED BY HURRICANE IRMA CUBAN CIGARS WIPED OUT BY IRMA FIRST MATTHEW, THEN SANDY NOW IRMA WIPES OUT CUBAN CIGARS AGAIN For the third time in a decade Cuban Tobacco (and most agricultural products have been wiped out). Hurricane Irma hit Cuba near Santiago and the eye of the storm traveled across the island tearing up everything as it went. Irma turned right just east of Havana and headed straight for Florida where the reaction is full evacuation. http://doncollins.blogspot.de/2017/09/cuban-cigars-destroyed-by-hurricane-irma.html?m=1 Or you can believe this more serious report : http://www.cigaraficionado.com/webfeatures/show/id/hurricane-irma-has-little-effect-in-pinar-del-rio-19559 1
Geaux Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 THe CA article sounds encouraging. I certainly hope it turns out to be accurate and true across the countries farms.

clutch5150 Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Did they not note the HUNDREDS of radar plots on the internet and/or over the TV airwaves? Maybe they have no clue where the majority of the tobacco is grown?

PigFish Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 (edited) ... regardless! Tobacco is scarce and wrappers impossible. Quality will go down and the price will need to go up! Lord knows they will need to pay a premium for those crisp gold laced bands printed in other counties! EDIT: Cuba does not need a hurricane to destroy cigars. Tabacuba is doing a great job without one!!! -the Pig Edited September 14, 2017 by PigFish Left out pertinent facts! 1
