Coincidentally I smoked a 2007 Romeo No 2 Tubos last night and was super impressed with it. I'm sure your Churchill was every bit as good or better. Love Romeos when they are like this.

That era was generally very lean for quality RyJ, but if there would be any time some decent examples could be found it would be 07-08, although finding a decent Churchill was probably the most challenging. You're very lucky to have found one. Good, aged RyJ Churchills (or any RyJ) are virtually non-existent these days. It's a shame as RyJ typically ages very well medium-term (5-10 years).

Side note--I don't believe the new white-font standard RyJ bands and the new red-and-white tubes were in use until 2008 so this example is probably from 2008, which was also right in the sweet spot in terms of overall CC quality for the time.

Just had a R&J Churchill from 2014 last weekend.  Outstanding. Smooth, cream and cherries,

The last few years they have been top notch.

Just got a box of 10 Tubos box code LEP 16.  They look and smell fantastic!  I can't wait to try one out!!  Maybe I should order another box to age!!!  Anyone smoked one from 2016 Production yet?  How are they compare to 2014 that people here are raving about?

I have missed the last few on 24:24. They looked great. Especially the one a few weeks ago, wrappers painted red!! Wonder how they smoke.

One of the finest smokes, and know to be the gold star for all Churchill cigars, this Romeo Y Julieta Circa 2007 was as soon from beginning to end. Creamy smooth texture only found In well aged and crafted cigars. Cheers DK thank you for this VERY Generous gift! I would have no idea where to find a comparable taste or cigar.... thoughts gentleman?

My thoughts are minor in comparison to what has been already said on this topic already. "The gold star for all churchill cigars" is a beautiful phrase which got me thinking, "how many current regular production churchill cigars is that, exactly?"

If you count that the Cohiba Esplendidos and H.Upmann Sir Winston is in a current production hiatus, then yes, the Romeo y Julieta Churchill is the gold star of all churchills.
