So I just had a Vegas Robaina Famosos from the robusto seconds sampler a while ago and it surprised me. It tasted just like an Egg-cream, all milk chocolate with a distinct fizz to it. It felt weirdly on your tongue like it was carbonated. Has anyone experienced a cigar with effervescence before or am I crazy?

I've heard about this "Fizziness" in regards to the RACA from a few people.  When I first smoked it, I had experienced it several times as well.  Very odd, but interesting.  The taste was more fruity than milk chocolate though.

Not crazy, I have experienced this quite a lot.  Its what I believe most people call "twang" although that word is kind of strange and confusing to me.  I think it's the citrusy taste which almost tastes as if you took the first drink from a warm can of lemon-lime soda.  It's kind of a texture as well.  I get it.  I've experienced this.  Maybe others palates are different but what you experience is undoubtedly been experienced by you--no one can tell you otherwise.  Smoke a Rafael Gonzalez PC with this trait and I swear it's like smoking a Vanilla Coke.

I think I definitely need to check out some RACA.

I agree with zeedubbya that you may be describing a somewhat elusive “zing” in CC’s that I’ve experienced, and quite enjoy. I find it citrusy, and so far it’s been pretty inconsistent and hard to pin down on any one Marca....just seems to pop up now and then. My most memorable experience with this was with the very first CC I had, a Cohiba Robusto. But I’ve since experienced it occasionally with other CC’s. I’ve not noticed it with my current box of Famosos though. I hope I do.
