CigarsRLife Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Hey all! I miss many of the 24:24 sales and this is my first one where there was a locker sale, so I have a few questions. 1. Are these cigars that are purchased and stored by someone in a locker and then sold back or stored with the intention of reselling aged stock? Basically how do the come about? 2. What is everyones opinion on buying aged stock versus fresh and aging it yourself? I was very tempted to start firing off emails for several of the offerings but want to learn a little more about it before I do that during the next offering. I am still very much in the learning stages of purchasing CC and aging them so any info helps. I can see with cigars that are no longer produced like the Diplomatico No 4 (which I have heard is amazing), this is a very useful tool to gain access to cigars like that. I can also see how purchasing already aged stock will allow you to possibly smoke something at its desired age sooner. But I can also see the flip side where it is nice to purchase non-aged stock and see how it progresses every few months to find its sweet spot.

Hi There, welcome to the Forum first of all, to try an answer your questions as i know alot of fellow FOH brothers will also chime in, Locker stock to my knowledge is cigars that members have bought over time and stored in there said locker with our wonderful host, if at any point someone decides they need or want to sell these, they sell back to Rob. every now and then Rob will do a locker sale just like today. -- see link for how it works. and to answer your other question, it is all up to you, some of the aged stock that comes up is incredible and most of it is very well sought after. buying aged stock means you can smoke it now if you wish and not have to wait for it, it is a personal preference. hope this helps! aged stock is always extremely quick to move on the 24:24

That I had no doubt of, I Was very tempted to fire off multiple lots the second I saw it posted tonight, especially those Cohibas and Diplomatico No 4s. I will certainly being investing in some sticks next Locker Stock selloff. 1
Popular Post Hurltim Posted March 28, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 28, 2017 Welcome!!!! You have to work FAST on these locker sales. There is ZERO time to think it over. On large locker sales you MAY have time to send an additional email. More than likely you won't get one. My advice: Know your aged wish list well. You see one you want--stop scrolling and send the email as fast as you can. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk 6

Regardless of what the date may say in my profile, I too am a noob to the forum. I thought OLH stood for something else, as there is an actual website with the same name...I'm sure many are aware of it. Maybe I'm not paying attention, but is there somewhere on the FOH site where I would have learned of the OLH other than seeing people mention "OLH" in the occasional post, and me not knowing what "OLH" stood for? While I'm at it, I saw mention of "LFTH" (Live From The Humidor) in the above link from the El Prez. What's that about? Is it a thread that comes up from time to time, similar to 24:24? Again, maybe I'm just not paying attention. edit: I see the tab at the top of the page for "humidor," which answers one of my questions....even though it's referred to as OHS not OLH. 1

OLH is the online humidor you can register for as per the outlined requirements in the attachment. above the humidor icon at the banner at the very top of the page it says Locker, these are the same things as far as I'm aware.

Jimmy_jack Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I've started using the humidor. I think it's great for us and a smart business move for Rob and his crew. I can't store many more boxes now, simply no room. I can however purchase them. So...he keeps them for me and I can't touch them for at least 6 months...longer more likely considering o have to smoke up my current stuff to make room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

No. There are many definitions for investment, but in my statement it is the act of purchasing something for future gain or benefit. I would be gaining an immense amount of pleasure smoking those cigars down the road, benefiting from the relaxation that they provide during my smoking experience. You are thinking of investment as an act of purchasing assets in order to generate wealth down the road. But unfortunately this would be incorrect also because wealth has several meanings too, "plentiful supplies", which I am continuously growing my supply of cigars for personal consumption. But thank you for dropping by and trying to provide an english lesson on a post that had nothing to do with that. I assumed this was a far more relaxed environment.

As far as I understand your post you've never smoked a Diplo 4, then you don't even know if this cigar would fit your likings – your judgement is probably influenced by the halo effect surrounding this cigar, a cigar that was discontinued because it didn't sell, and gained popularity as soon as it was no longer made. We're not talking Davidoff Haut-Brion or Dunhill Cabinetta here…
