Hi folks,

I'm headed to Orlando/maybe Miami next week, 1st March to attend the Women In Aviation Conference (I know I'm a guy) so was wondering if anyone either;

- Lives nearby and can recommend some cigar shops to stop in at, possibly catch up for a smoke?

- Can recommend some interesting places, things to do besides Disney. I have an aunt in Georgia I don't wanna visit so other options are appreciated!

Cheers

Adam

       Well from what I understand the whole STATE of Florida is a giant cigar shop due to the immigrations through the years of so many Cuban nacionales!  I've never been there but I get all kinds of stories, reports, etc. of EVERYBODY there having underground tobaccos and "supposed Cuban tobacco" being manufactured into their own private cigar selections. Of course as I mentioned, this is the stories and tales I've been told again and again.  Tampa is the city that is home to ye olde cigar manufacturing factories of years past for a more official cigar fame location.  While you're in Miami there is the Miami Seaquarium, the Miami Children's Museum, the Art Deco District, the Bayside Market Place with over 150 outdoor specialty and tourist shops, and the Viscaya Museum and Gardens which is supposed to be one of Miami's greatest treasures, and finally "Little Havana and Calle Ocho".  Just some of what you could check out. Hope you have fun and enjoy yourself! :cap:

In Miami I would second @cigcars about Little Havana and Calle Ocho (S.W. 8th Street) in Miami. If you've never been it is a real treat, with lots of different cigar shops and lounges, a real Cuban affair. However, do not for a moment believe anyone who tells you they have a good deal on Cubans, unless of course you want to have a good laugh. But they do roll cigars on premises a lot of those shops, and they're not too bad for freshies right off the roller's table. There are also a lot of great cigar HQs in Miami, including Padron, Perdomo, Tatuaje, Torano, etc. and they usually don't mind giving a tour to walk-in patrons. I've done the Miami Cigar crawl years ago, it was well worth it.

You have to go to a couple of Cuban coffee windows and get a Cortadito (sweet Cuban Coffee), and try one of their Cuban sandwiches or maybe some pastelitos. If you don't mind going about 10 miles north of Miami, there is a great cigar bar in Weston called Smoke On The Water, right in the Weston Town Center. They have a large walk-in humidor with a good selection of NCs, and lots of craft beer on tap. I may be able to join you there depending on which night you go.

If no family or kids are tagging along, a trip to South Beach is highly recommended, especially if you have time on the weekend. You'll get a good eyeful of young/old latinas, and maybe a one or two MTV stars on the beach in SoBe.

Corona Cigar Company is a great place to enjoy a cigar in Orlando. They have several locations, one downtown and one closer to Disney. If you have time to kill, their sand lake rd location is closer to Disney and has a lot to offer. Restaurant's, bars, and good smokes.  Enjoy!

Corona is excellent. Both the downtown location, which is my favorite, and the sand lake location. Hit me up if you have some time and want to meet up for a cigar or two.

Corona Cigar is the king of cigar shops in Orlando. There is another small nice shop that does a great coffee in down town Winter Park, called Belicoso Cigars. Nice scenery and good shopping. I'm in the Orlando area so if you have any questions in general send me a PM. As for what else to do...depends on you likes and how long you are here. There's great fishing and beaches. There are some good beer spots...but no indoor smoking here.
