Bolivar Coronas Gigantes ESO Sept 2014: Discontinued Cigar Reviews Weekend

Recommended Posts

Lovely smell at cold draw, to my nose barnyard and earth.  Cap yields to a medium punch cut which creates a draw that is firm without being tight.  Appearance of the wrapper is coffee with cream, and the first third of the cigar gives forth flavors consistent with this appearance.  There is spice, but in perfect balance throughout the first into the second third, in which chocolate, cream, and coffee mingle with earth notes.  In my mind, the cigar falls off a cliff in the final third.  Bitterness becomes prominent, and the flavors are muddled.  I chalk this up to something that could be my fault--I may have either smoked it too fast, or failed to dry box it for the appropriate length of time--or in the alternative something that could be due to the fact that this cigar is still relatively young given its strength and flavor profile.  A great cigar regardless, and one that I look forward to sampling again int he years to come.
