one version of heaven

i do not intend starting some never-ending antagonistic theological debate, and those who know me have a fair idea of my real thoughts, but i had some tv program on in the background, sleepy hollow i think, and some of the characters arrive in "heaven". actually in a tavern but apparently the same thing. i am not making this up.

i had to stop and scribble down the version of heaven in which said characters, no idea who they were, arrived. one asks what is it like. the response...

"Springsteen making records, kids on swings, trout in the streams, cold beer".

personally, i would hope heaven was a kids-free zone but the rest, i'm on board!

Ok, i'll play along. For me heaven would contain mainly women, cigars, scotch and jazz.

ah, but the difference is that this was not my version. i just happened upon it. but i'd take yours - well, again, three out of four.

i remember seeing someone say, about jazz, something like, “I don't get jazz. Sounds like a bunch of toddlers let loose in a music room.” i remember thinking, no, that is not right. it is much much worse. but then, each to his own.

I dunno, I've never been much of believe in heaven but if there is such a thing I've always hoped it was an opportunity to go back to the best time of your life and live in it for as long as you can stand. Not to change it, but just to be completely at peace and in the moment once again. Hopefully I wouldn't know I was reliving a memory while I was in it, I just want to be able to go back to a time where I was at my happiest and stay there

     *Heaven for me would look exactly like the Amazon rain forests, lovely fields of flowers here in the States, and beautiful skies and purple sunsets just like on earth - all just minus pollution and bothersome insects.

Heaven for me would be a never ending supply of cigars, rum & good books.....anything else is just a bonus.
