Had an awake brain surgery this year.  Resolution was to make it through that.  So far so good, as I sit here enjoying an Upmann 2 with no neurological deficit that my tastebuds can perceive.

Being Generous, I'd probably score around 6 out of 10

Loose Some Weight- 5/10

Started off woefully but a 2nd half fight back ensured I'm entering Dec 2016 lighter than Jan 2016

Drink Less- 5/10

Again, not the best start but after a massive all day bender (you cant drink all day if you don't start in the morning) 5 months ago I quit drinking completely for 4 months and have only just started wean myself back onto the booze in the last few days in preparation for Christmas

Rebuild my Savings- 2/10

After buying my house 3 years ago I decided this year would be the year I actively tried to get my safety net back to a level that would help me sleep at night. That didn't go well at all. After taking a holiday and beginning renovations on the house this year the safety net will have to wait til next year... hopefully

Fix some things around the house- 7/10

A productive year for home improvement. Changed most of the light fixtures and fans in the house to something more modern (and power efficient). Got the garden tidied up (it was a jungle) and have a kitchen rebuild starting early next year.

Buy some cigars- 5/10

Went almost 2 years between purchases. Managed to find the spare cash to invest in a couple 5'ers and box splits throughout the year. I don't think i'll ever get my purchasing rate back to what it was before I bought my place, and I've had to pass on a number of good looking releases this year but I've managed to get at least a single of every cigar I wanted to try in 2016

Spend less time on my Phone- 6/10

No Phone Fridays are a thing at home now. From when my missus and I get home phones go on charge in the kitchen and stay there (unless they ring). Its been nice. You don't realize how much time those things take from you until you give them up. Ideally, we'd like to go 2 or 3 nights a week but I'm not sure how viable that is at the moment

Further my professional education 7/10

Completed 3 courses this year (project management, OHS, T&A). Will be looking at a few more for the first half of 2017

Education 8/10

Started my film career! Took a few courses with a master screenwriter and learned alot... still more to learn. Writing constantly, somethin new every week. Have a few offers to write television series that hopefully get greenlit (crossing fingers) and I am currently developing my own series. Began acting last month, loving it so far... hopefully it continues.

Reading 6/10

Started off strong, fell off hard.

Less Drinking 10/10

Nearly cut booze out all together. Only occasionally have 1 or 2 drinks with friends.

Fitness 9/10

Started at the tail end of last year and continued throughout. Could even bench press 65lbs, now at 225, unfortunately did not reach my year end goal of weighing 185lbs :( Currently at 173... but up from 144 at the beginning of the year.

Wet shaving 2/10

Can't resist those artisan soaps.

Cigars 6/10

While I have opened up my pallet and discovered many new cigars and FOH  My wallet is a fair bit lighter. Shame I didn't discover this place earlier... could've saved a lot of scratch.

Exercise 8/10

This was my top priority.  I'm back at physical therapy but still can't jog.  I kept active on the treadmill and weights.  Success but not complete

Work 2/10

I'm still not engaged at work.  Many reasons but a big one is my project keeps pushing out.  In the new year it should get busy again and I hope to regain the spark.

Spread Too Thin 5/10

This will be at the top of my list for 2017.  I have too many hobbies/interests and some end of suffering due to lack of time.  I realized I hit the wall this October when my queen bee left the hive with all but 100 bees and I still don't know why.  That hurt.  :dunce:  I have my theories why but I need to baby them more next year.

Cigars ∞

To think a resolution for 2016 was to maintain humidity in my humidor.  I had been gifted a cheap Chinese 50 count humidor ten years ago but never took care of it, so I never purchased cigars.  I was the guy who you brought cigars to at the bbq.  I forced myself to take care of my humidor by finally buying some five packs.  Then realized I was out of space so I purchased a 150 count.  You know the rest of this story...

Make a budget 9/10

Ive managed to live by a budget, with only a few minors slips, for the first time ever.

Work down debt 8/10

Lessened our debt by 25%+ in one year.

Lose weight 0/10

I'm entering the holiday season 4 pounds heavier than I entered the New Year.

Be successful at my new gig  9/10

Our top five customers produced 8% less gross income for us this year, and we still put up a positive growth number for the year. My job is outside sales

Work on my marriage 7/10

We're happier than we've ever been. I give the credit to my wife... she's a jewel.

Work on my spirituality 4/10

It's a never ending battle for me.

All in all, it's been a very good year for me, and having just come through the thanksgiving season, I'd like to say that I'm grateful
