Anyone else catch UFC 205?  Connor McGreggor now holds TWO UFC belts...he impressively won by KO tonight, defeating the reigning Lightweight champ Eddie Alverez.  He did a lot of talking before the fight, as he always does, then backed it up with a vulgar display of power!  And did I mention the women's bouts?  Is it me or do the women always "bring it"?  Damn entertaining night of fights if your a UFC fan.

*Well, I'M bugged out because I was rooting for Eddie Alverez to win - shucks, shucks, SHUCKS!!   And might you have seen in the Bleacher Report that McGreggor wants part ownership of the UFC now, due to his wins!?  Thinks he's God now, or somethin'??  There've been plenty of spectacular winners in UFC's past events, greats, but I don't recall them asking Dana to make them part owners in the UFC.  If I'm wrong I'm open to correction.

Never even competitive. McGregor beat him senseless. Not always a fan of his antics, but he can be funny "I'd like to take this time to apologize...... to absolutely nobody". Haha awesome.

I hadn't seen the report you mention, but he certainly doesn't seem to be lacking for a big head.  Conversely, I think most of his antics are pure theater.

He needs the UFC more than they need him. Without the UFC he's just a thug working the docks.

You may be right, but I think he's already make enough money to to retire a couple of times over.

McGregor, after he won last night, was also losing his mind over his 2nd other belt not being there to be displayed with his new belt. Theater? T'was quite a long-winded temper tantrum he threw over that. It can be checked on Yahoo Sports, UFC 205 Results, and the subsequent views and responses by Dana and the industry heads.

That's right, damn near forgot about that...I wonder what the new owners think about being called "cheap effer's"?

I watched it all. And the prelims. McGreggor may be a loud mouth but everything he said was right. Alvarez didn't have the reach to touch him and McGregor won by knockout. It's all a show for the crowd but he backs it up by working hard on his accuracy. He floored him 3 times in the first round with straight lefts. I think McGregor had a right to be a bit annoyed at the fact they didn't have the second belt on hand to present to him. So he made that part of the show too. I think he needs to defend his feather weight title next to give the guys in that weight division a chance or now just fight light weight and leave the feather weight vacant. I was hoping the see more action from the wonder boy fight. It seemed a cautious measured fight through the middle rounds unfortunately. Woodley looked pretty annoyed when the decision was announced as a win then overturned as a majority draw.

He definitely talks the talk, and then walks the walk...his left hand is a jackhammer!  Agree with you about wonderboy, he seemed afraid to get hit (rightly so), but he still needed to open up.  Not sure whether or not his fit about the belt was genuine or not, regardless, he knows how to put backsides in the seats and ppv's in the stratosphere!

If you guys haven't watched (or listened) to the most recent Joe Rogan Experience podcast when he had Chael Sonnon on, go check it it. Conor's antics remind me a LOT of Chael's. I absolutely hated Chael. He made himself the bad guy in every fight and talked too much crap. I didn't really understand exactly how theatrical it was until I watched that episode of JRE. Chael basically turned his fights into a WWF promotion. He's a very smart dude and speaks his mind. I can now say that I respect that dude 100%.

As far as the fight, I was really hoping that Conor wouldn't win. I think he's a good dude but I don't like the "character" he portrays. I watched just that main event last night. Going to watch the rest of the card this afternoon. Glad there are others here who watch UFC.

Conor is definitely playing the role of a heel. His chair antics at the press event, talking trash to Woodley and Khabib backstage.... it's all drama. He does back up his talk thought.

I'd like to see him drop back to 145 and defend that belt. Give Khabib and Ferguson a chance to solidify the No. 1 contender spot at 155.

And I'm only saying that because otherwise Conor's going to duck Khabib, and I want the see all his arguements fall to the wayside and have to make the fight with Khabib.

Connors win shocked me as well. Not a fan of his "character" but there is a bright side to his carnival barker antics: BIG paydays for the other fighters. I'd like to see Nate Diaz get the rubber match for the title next. It doesn't need to make sense rankings wise.

He'd have to come down, I wonder if he can still make 155?

That's where he's been until the Connor fights. The good 170# fighters proved to be too much for him. It's why Connor should stay at 155. Size does matter in combat at the highest levels. Could you really imagine Connor beating Woodley? I can't and that's another rumored matchup.
