fabes Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Took this opportunity to burn my remaining fundadores. I got this in a trade and don't know the date code. Great looking cigar and well constructed. I get a nutty undertone and occasional marzipan flavors with trinidad usually. This fundadore was pretty mellow so I think it may have been sitting around for a few years. I'm a big Trinidad fan and really love the reyes and coloniales, and occasionally the vigia (when not underfilled). Out of the handful of fundadores I've had, I gotta say that it's not really my favorite of their offerings. I've had much more remarkable experiences with the reyes than the fundadore. I'm sure this puts me in the minority, but so be it. For the vitola I find the monte especial much more interesting. Not a bad smoke at all, but this fundadore was rather average.
Bohn007 Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I have three left from the original release. They age really well IMHO. 19 years old and still a nice cigar although probably 1/3 of the original cabinet of 50 were tight to the point of being a source of frustration.

I've heard the original release was a real treat. Put up a review when you smoke one!

Had one just a couple of months ago. The cigars were inconsistent in construction but the good ones were great smokes and still good.
Blazer Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Love the fund! I need to find me some marzipan as I see it described frequently in cigar reviews and yet I have no idea what it tastes like.
