Popular Post Sean3 Posted October 22, 2016 Popular Post Posted October 22, 2016 Ok boys and girls, time for another Mystery Stick installment. Today it's #4, and it starts with a chilly, overcast day. The Fall colors are past their peak, but still worth looking at. The temp is 47F. With this as the backdrop, I break out #4. It's a little on the thin side, the wrapper is chocolate colored, the draw just a tad firm. Now, my palette has been somewhat treasonous lately, as evidenced by my feeble attempts at identifying all these mystery sticks, none the less, I'll share all the flavors this cigar offered, in all their glory. Buckle up, here we go...chocolate, with spice through the nose start the festivities. A little ways in, milk coffee and that Cuban twang...hmmm, nice, and familiar! About halfway through, cocoa! So now we have choclate, milk coffee, and cocoa. Add some toasted tobacco and we have what I am confident is...wait for it......a Montecristo. Specifically, a Monte No.3. Despite my previous failures, I was confident in this guess and I went all in with it. A teriffic smoke, the question however is...was I right? YES, WOOHOO!!!!! Finally. Now, I know the Monte DNA is very recognizable, but I was 0 - 3 with my guesses and I needed a break. I'll take it! Sean - 1 Mystery Sticks - 3 Have a great evening everyone! Today's goodness, and another bonus pic of my smoking companions. 5
JohnS Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Oh wow...8°C, now that is cold! you are so brave. Congratulations on getting it right. If it was me out there, as I live in a warmer country (it doesn't get to down to 47°F in winter during the day) I would have smoked it too quickly for sure!
Smoke6 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Quote Sean, well done! 47 degrees is what I deal with here in the Midwest, Iowa to be exact. Not sure how you do it but I would have roasted turkey and venison steaks every week if I lived close to you

Some years back, I would have had venison and roasted turkey, but nowadays I prefer to feed 'em instead of hunt them. Must be getting old! 1

luv2fly Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Well done! I have never been ale to pick a bind cigar. Good job! By the way, love the wildlife pics you post! We do get some turkey here but rare. We live in a metro area. Did see a fox the other day. Very rare to see and I was a bit confused.
MahDooRow Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I always enjoy the woodsy background in your pics. Thanks for posting a separate pic of your smoking companions. It looks like a beautiful spot.
Smoke6 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Sean, BTW where is your location? Hurltim, you ain't kidding. With hardly 4-5 months of decent weather, we'll take 47 ANYDAY 1

With hardly 4-5 months of decent weather, we'll take 47 ANYDAY I'm in northern Michigan (lower peninsula). If I'm lucky, I'll have maybe 2-3 weeks of cooler, but reasonable weather for smoking. When winter sets in it get's damn cold here.

Seems a lot of critters are adapting to metro areas, deer, fox, and coyote among them!
