jerryg05495 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 A fantastic service, thanks. New rules sound seem very reasonable.
DaBigDog Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Definitely agree and the new terms are fair. I'm not that active on the board (and plan on changing that), but have taken advantage of the OLH. It's a great service. One question for the Prez - any possibility of reducing the 6 month rule ? As I understand it, if I ordered my first boxes on August 1, I can't ship until Feb 1st?
mnmlst Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 As someone who's only recently come on board and also just started using the OLH, it all sounds quite fair to me - and thanks for providing the service, Rob.

If you want it home before six months then take it home at purchase? I am tempted to put a $25 service fee for taking them out within 6 months. There is a real admin cost involved. 4
DaBigDog Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I'd be ok with that. That said, it would only be something I do once and only because I just started using the service and some special circumstances. No worries either way bro. I'll just have to order and ship in November. And keep the MC bill away from the wife
ChanceSchmerr Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I like the changes. Particularly the movement clause - makes a lot of sense to me. One question I have - what was decided with regards to the lockers where there has been no contact from the owners for several years? I like the idea of a secondary contact - makes sense to have someone else to contact in case the owner is indisposed for a long period of time....
ianwilliamz Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 All sounds fair to me 5 boxes a year in for 12 years to get some age going, then have 5 cases/yr of rolling vintage stock
insaniac24 Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 The new terms seem reasonable, and I'm thankful for our host providing this service. Good to take steps to keep it without-charge and accessible for newcomers.
JohnS Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Sounds fine to me. Wow...60 box maximum (It seems a generous and plentiful allocation). You know I'm itching to ask you how many members are over that amount currently next time you're in Sydney, Rob!

Let me recap the 5 box movement to see if I understand it correctly. 1. Buy 5 and let them enter into OLH - criteria met 2. Have 10 in OLH and ship 5 out - criteria met 3. Any combination of in/out that adds up to 5 - criteria met Is this correct? Correct. At the smallest scale you can buy three initially. Buy another two later...take two home during the year. Condition met. 5 box movement was completed by buying 5 boxes during the year. Most will want to take a few home. Take two home, keep the minimum three boxes in the locker to keep it active. 1

A secondary contact will be implemented. 2
torsion Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Cheers for offering this service Rob @El Presidente The new rules are very fair, now how/what do I tell the wife when I start calling boxes home? 1

JamesNYC Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 If you are running out of room you have to do something. 5 box in/out 60 box limit seems fair. Is there a way for you to track if each member is in compliance and then generate a reminder email in November advising them of their status so they can be compliant before year end?

Would love to but that may be beyond us especially in that time frame. Ryan created the OLH data base and I will run it past him. If we can automate it with not too much trouble, we will certainly do it.

Check each account manually at years end? That would be very time consuming! An automated system shouldn't be difficult to implement.

El Presidente Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 No ..you nailed it! I am blessed to have a remarkable team. I just assume someday's that they can handle it. We have weekly meetings. they would have pointed out the naivety of my solution without database upgrades. You just put it on the agenda. Thank you for that

Ethernut Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Like the secondary contact. If something happened to me, my wife would have no idea I had boxes in brizzy ??? uhhhhh ??? so, the OLH should be called the HFW (hide from wife) service.. would want them to go to my Dad. 4
