Just finished my first aged Monty 2 and wow. Most of my experiences have been on 1-2 year old sticks. This was a 2008 and was so incredibly smooth with cedar, hints of chocolate and tons of creamy thick smoke. Simply amazing how smooth and refined it was, my first experience with any aged stick. Razor sharp burn and perfect draw. I don't have the patience to age 8 years. What's a typical age sweet spot on these?

I'm going to start mixing in aged to new so the new 1 year old boxes can age while I smoke the aged boxes. Best thing I can think to describe it is just pure elegance

That's a good plan.  I still buy a lot of fresh boxes mostly to lay down for some time.  I am always drawn to my aged stock when I open the humi so that's what I usually smoke.  I can see how the experienced guys around here say cigars aged yourself are the best.  There is an extra reward for patience and care put into your smokes.  I will be there in about 10 years Lord willing.

You're in trouble.  I went from NCs to CCs 6 months ago, then tried aged CCs 3 months ago.  Now I'm buying aged stock to age.  It has been fun.

I used to have a lot of CC, smoked them all over a decade but picked up the habit again about a year ago. However then lacking a reliable source, started smoking NC just because it was all I could get. Now my eyes are opened and when I tried to smoke a Liga Privada No. 9 toro the other day I almost couldn't take all the pepper. I am not buying any more NC and only buying CC from now on. Only smoking the NC just to make me appreciate what I have in CC.
