Well, I recently registered here and work has finally slowed down enough where I can type a little intro and say hello!  I'm pretty new to cigars in general, only having bought a few Opus X as a gift for a long time friend I hadn't seen in years, who's a long time cigar lover.  I had every intention of not smoking even one of them, but since I now had a little 20 cigar humidor on my desk with a few sticks in it for guests, eventually they kept beckoning to me and I gave in.  It's been a very quick slide down the slippery cigar slope since then and the little 20 count quickly became my wife's for her flavored cigars and I picked up a 100 count humidor for my desk, but that wasn't enough so currently I have 4 tupperdors behind my desk too.

The various cigar forums have been great to learn more, discover new brands, and ultimately led me here, and this site and everyone on it seems really knowledgeable, helpful and nice.  I think that's what impresses me most about this hobby, almost everyone is friendly, happy to share knowledge they've picked up over the years, and genuinely seems like they'd be great to sit down and have a cigar with and talk to regardless of where they're from, etc.   The term Brother/Sister of the leaf, certainly seems appropriate, because of the close knit vibe this community gives off.

In closing, forgive the run on sentences I'm awake but haven't had caffeine as of yet. lol

Oh and if any of you ever find yourselves in Maryland, specifically around Frederick or Montgomery County, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to meet a new BOTL and open up the humidor for a new friend.

Thanks,

Alex

Great post @n0s4atu you've pretty much nailed it. Welcome to FOH, the best forum in the world. Fair warning the 24:24's are kinda dangerous! Look away man, look away! ?

Your warning comes too late Ethernut! Diplomaticos are en route. lol  Cigars in general are dangerous for the bank account, this place just increases the likelihood of damage to the account with the 24:24.  Not to mention there are some reviewers here that describe cigars and their flavors so well it makes me want to run out and get them.

If I continue along this path, I suspect my wife may take away my computer and put me in time out. lol  Although luckily for me she actually enjoys cigars and can usually be persuaded to come out and enjoy one with me. The cost of that was a pink Xikar set of lighter and cutter and her own little stash, but it seems like a small price to pay. :)

Cheers Alex, one of my best friends from college was from 'Fredrock', MD.  I have a cigar history similar to yours but after a friend started sending me some CC's from Canada, I had to realign my buying patterns and build my CC knowledge, and as you now know, this place is great for accomplishing both!  See ya around!
