HavanaSunday
Since this thread is about the cigar in your humidor you hate - I thought the absolute best worst cigar to throw a bone to would be the Monte Open; Regatta - MOS JUL 09. ~ I'll preface this review by saying Ken most likely wouldn't agree ~ I don't see a need to review this in thirds as it was absolutely gun barrel throughout. Surprisingly enough this cigar was quite pleasant... I'll chalk that up to age and not blend as none of the previous 18 or so smoked from this box performed in this manner. Some aged tobacco and pleasant mustiness upfront with some sweet creamed light coffee. Finish was rather short but there was a lingering flavor of nuts - almonds more than anything. The flavors however were VERY inconsistent - going from "ooh, this is actually nice" to "there's nothing here" rather frequently throughout the cigar. I would also add that I had a great cup of black coffee with this - Temple Roasters Papua New Guinea - that may have had an effect on the overall performance.
fabes
At least the coffee was good. Temple has some nice coffees. You live near Sac?

The Papua New Guinea is currently my favorite Temple coffee. I would agree that it pairs very well with mild Cubans. I will admit that your review has created interest (not enough to go out of my way) in a cigar I thought I would never buy. Nice write-up.
TheMonk
Nice short review. Haven't smoked a MC Open that I've enjoyed... All sub par, IMO.
HavanaSunday
I don't live near Sacramento.... or in CA. But Temple Roasters knows what they're doing.
