It does say the fate of the kangaroo is unknown, but i'm pretty sure ricocheting off a car into a blokes flailing legs isn't going to do wonders for its health.

it is a sad thing but they are a problem.

i hit one last year in country victoria. on dusk, heavily wooded area. it bolted out from one side of the road in front of the car and almost made it. left a kangaroo-shaped dint in the hire car. poor thing was gone but not yet dead. fortunately a farmer's wife came out with a shovel to finish it off. her comments - shame you didn't hit the big one. it has been causing havoc.

what was really sad was that it had a joey. i had left before its fate was decided. could not face that.
