Great source for shaving supplies with free shipping this week... West Coast Shaving. I really like TOBS shaving creams and managed to pick-up a couple of hard to find ones this week along with some blades and other god stuff. If you're into shaving like your father and grandfather did, this is a good place to visit.

I've bought a couple straights from a different vendor, but will definitely check these guys out. There really isn't anything like a three pass shave with a good straight razor.

Up here in Canada I go with Fendrihan Canada. There may be others but I don't bother shopping around. My wife makes me some awesome shaving soap. I store it in old pipe tobacco tins. So all I get these days is blades. Might upgrade the razor and brush one day but till then I just keep scraping away. Nothing beats a good shave though. If I go more than three days it's like hacking away at a boreal forest. Safety razors have done the best job so far.

To be honest I've been using the same disposable razor for over a year and I don't use shaving cream.

I thought I was the only one that did that! Although it's been a long time since I last did it...

You know how a good cigar can be sublime? A proper wet shave with a straight is on the same plane.

It's like a Gurkha vs a properly aged ultra rare CC.

Thanks for the info. I've had great experiences with Larry at http://www.whippeddog.com.

I bought my first from him. His sight unseen is a very economical way to get started.

Yep. And if you don't like the razor you get sight unseen he'll trade you one of equal value for the cost of a honing ($18 a/t/m). Class act.
