Hamlet Paredes sighting!

I had the distinct pleasure and honor of meeting the famous Hamlet Paredes last night in the great state of Wisconsin. After reading Rob's write up a couple weeks (a month?) back about Hamlet and their close relationship, I looked up Hamlet's scheduled events and noticed that two were very near to where I work. Well, last night was the night. Hamlet is a very warm and kind man who really knows how to keep an audience engaged and entertained... as detailed in Rob's post.

I finally mustered the courage to speak up... "I heard rumors you have some fans in Australia", to which he replied "Yes! FriendsofHabanos?". He said that he was proud of his 13,000 brethren. He also spoke a bit about how important Rob's friendship is to him and how surprised/honored he felt when Rob insisted on selling his cigars! A very heartfelt story that everyone present enjoyed hearing.

I was originally ready to buy 2 boxes via this forum until I realized that I could get them locally when Hamlet was in town rather than pay the freight from Australia! In any event, I have my two boxes and had the opportunity to try one of Hamlet's cigars. The corona I had last night was a wonderful experience, truly something I will enjoy as part of my regular choices. I probably would have had another right away had the shop not been closing up for the evening!

After seeing/hearing Hamlet's love for this group, it has fortified my desire to meet more FriendsofHabanos brethren... even if it means traveling long distances for the opportunity.

I'm going to be super pissed if that was in Houston lol! A few months back he was and it was great. He's very approachable and passionate. Can't beat that.

I just caught up with the hamlet train (entirely by accident) as well in bellflower California when I met hamlet and mentioned FOH I got a smile and a bear hug before he even got my name! Rob you have some interestingly cool pals. Super nice guy, I'm gonna buy a box ( sorry wife )
