LukeC Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 What's up everyone! My name is Luke and I am new to this forum. A little about myself, I am a former Navy veteran, and I now work as a civil engineer. I recently had my first child 6 months ago, and to destress I picked up smoking cigars again. I found that it has been an extremely relaxing way to just breath and take some time for myself. It didn't take long though to become obsessed with cigars! I love them! The aromas, the construction, the bands, the history, etc. While I was in the Navy, I was stationed overseas in Japan where I had access to all the habanos I could ever dream of. My go to sticks were Monte #2 and RyJ churches. I even shipped a box of Monte #2s home to my did as a gift. Now that I am back stateside, I have access to all the gems that come out of the Caribbean (with the exception of Cuba). I think this has been a good thing for me, because it has allowed me to branch out and try stuff other than habanos. I have grown to be a fan of Oliva, Arturo Fuente, Gurkha, Rocky Patel, Drew Estate among others. As amazing as some of these are, I still miss my habanos. Fortunately things are shifting here stateside and the reality of having access to habanos is becoming more and more of a reality every day. I am thankful for such an awesome community of cigar loving degenerates like myself. This is such an awesome community and I am happy to be a part of it. Cheers Luke 1

You've come to the right place to learn about this fantastic, albeit expensive, hobby. Take the time to search through the Watering Hole forum for topics of interest to you, which right now seem to be storage and aging related. Lots of great information here, and lots of members who are experts in this hobby. If you're going to spend the coin on cc's, don't go light on storage options. Also, only buy from trusted sources, and this is certainly one of the most trusted out there.
