Howdy Folks!

Just came across these photos on another site ... the Cohiba 40th Aniversario Cigar which will be introduced at the Habanos 2006 festival.

Didn't realize these suckers were even out - or perhaps this sucker is "shady"???

Just wondering if anyone had further info regarding this stick ... size?, price?, availability? ... need to get my hands on them as I have a special affiliation with 1966 :-)

Beautiful Ashtray Ray :ok:

Unless I am mistaken the 40th anny Cohiba appears to have 2 different wrapper leaves ;-)

Not available to my knowledge.

Pig Fish...

Where did you pick up the ashtray? It is absolutely gorgeous. I am need of a nice ashtray and yours looks wonderful. Help a family member out if you can. Thanks.

As far as the Cohiba 40th Anniversery, I'll defer to the wisemen of the board. [in my best Shultz voice]: "I know nothing!"

will chase info from my 'deep throat' in havana but to be honest, he has gone very quiet of late. love the ashtray.

they are presumably doing stuff for the 40th anniversary at this year's festival.

With the recent photos that have surfaced, you have no idea how wrong that sounds! ;-)

just had a note from my mate in havana - will drop the 'deep throat' if it makes some forum members more comfortable - so it seems that these might be dodgy. will also post this in the fakes section.

"We are not currently producing any 40th anniversary cigar under the Cohiba brand. Undoubtedly we will be celebrating the occasion with a great Festival aimed to commemorate Cohiba as a brand."

Pigfish:

Regarding your ashtray, this is an Elie Bleu Alba ashtray, yes? I ran across these while searching the web. A few questions, first, do the ashes/heat from cigar have any ill affects on the artwork? Secondly, how big of a ring will the holder accomodate? Thank you. Really is a wonderful looking ashtray.

These identical pix appeared on another board about a month ago -

these are manufactured by the infamous House of FUGAZY!!!!!!!

I am always amazed at the effort expended by some folks in attempt to dupe and take advantage of others --- it is really shameful.

What constantly amazes me is the folks who are so hungry to get their hands on "special" stuff that they risk being cheated in their search for product that no one else has!

I agree with your comments Privateer. The key here, and as many have already noted, is to find a reputable dealer. That is the beauty of Rob, Lisa and Smitty. These people care. They want you to be able to enjoy the pleasures of smoking a cuban cigar. By providing us with top notch service, selection and dependability, they very much insure that you will be a satisfied customer that will continue to do business with them. What more could one ask for?

Too many people just don't get it! They feel that they must find that something special that no one else has. Well, if it is that hard to get, chances are it is a fake. My feelings are such: I would rather smoke something else that El Pres has in stock, then go and take the chance of buying what I want from someone else. For me, at this point in time, I will just be content to buy from El Prez. I know there are other legitimate dealers out there. But, hey, I got lucky when I stumbled across this place back in October 2005. As I await my second shipment with anticipation, I know for certain that I am getting superior product at fantastic prices. For me, I can't ask for anything more.

Both very true. If you have to have it before anyone else, you may discover you never actually got it at all ....

Al,

Obviously this is a good site to discover what is new on the Habanos horizon. I am not aware of any such cigar but that does not mean that it does not exist! I won’t call myself an expert at cigars ready for release by any means.

HOWEVER, this “type” of cigar is a well documented fraud model. Why, because of its obvious mystery to many… and its corresponding allure to the unknowing. Without offence intended I would hold great suspicion of this cigars provenance!

Here is a pick out of my known fraud collection. A lounge singer attempted to sell me a box of these… I told him he would have to give me a sample to smoke first. -LOLimage404.jpg

Would that lounge singer happen to be singing at the Burbank Bar & Grill?

Was offered a box of the same smokes by a one man rock n' roll act there. He had plenty of similiar boxes available. We did set him straight on his product and gave him some fine habanos to compare.:-D
