that old one would be the review where one pissed idiot drank a bottle of zacapa XO mixed with diet coke. SHAME AYALA SHAME.

Do you take notes?

so neither of us remembered smoking one just a few years ago. i can understand why you could.

and ion the midst of the alcohol-infused mist of the old review, a gem from ayala - "why would you ever bother watching a review unless you were in it?"

I'm confused wheren't the H. Upmann bands brown in 2000? I thought the red bands wheren't seen till the Tang Monarch's done in either 2002 or 2003.

no idea,

so what you are suggesting is that rob sold himself fakes. i might not stop laughing for a month. brilliant!

tangs were 2002 and yes, a red band.

Thanks Ken thought it was 2002 but wasn't positive as my years are all running together. Could he have pulled the wrong ones n messed up the date on them? Hmm you saying Rob deals in fakes but only for his n your consumption? Lol. (I'm kidding being sarcastic in case folks don't realize it).

That was the box they came out of biggrin.png

I honestly can't recall the timeline of the bands. There is always the possibility that I consolidated some sticks in that box (which was one of mine) but I can't remember doing so. Hell, I struggle to remember much past last week. tongue.png

from trev's site, it looks like the old bands discontinued in 2006 and the red bands took over that year.

if so, what the hell did we smoke?

another precision review.

I have stock from 01 that have both bands

I've 2001 Upmann boxes with both new and old types of bands if that helps, I'm guessing it started slowly across a few vitola like the new Monte bands?

That's interesting cause from all that I remember seeing n reading David Tang was involved in the red Upmann bands n they where only used for his Special Tang release cigars, the Number 2, Corona n Monarch. The rest of the line didn't start using them till somewhere around '04 to '06.

Upmanns with red bands prior to 2006 had the word 'Habana' on them. From 2006 onwards the word 'Cuba' was added below the word Habana.

One box of Upmann no1 in the old bands and another box in the new red band, both 2001 boxes. If I recall checking the actual box artwork/design between the two is significantly different too.

I'm pretty sure I have a box of Upmann gran Corona that are early 2000/2001 with the red bands too.
