Today was its first sea trial I imported a Takacat 380 Sport from NewZealand befor Christmas. I like the design of their boats. Transomless so that they allow water to flow through the floor. Cat hull design for an easy plane. We added a host of Rail blazer mounts for Lowrance fish finder, rod holders (two on the back, two on the sides when required), Lights (navigation and safety) that clip into the railblazer mounts. All safety and add ons are in the Esky/cooler that doubles as a seat Second small cooler is for Live bait. Wheels, are attached permanently. Flick down or up. Paired it with a 15HP Yamaha 2 stroke. We already have an offroad trailer. Boat which weighs 45kilos empty and lives inflated on the trailer. Gear in the trailer. Into the water and out of the water in 10 minutes flat. The whole rig lives in the warehouse ready to go She scoots. 30 miles per hour/48 kmh. She is nice and dry and gets on the plane in seconds. Will change the prop to a more cupped Stainless Steel version shortly + a Hydrofoil to get the best out of her. We live on the banks of the Brisbane River which once upon a time was a magnificent fishery. It then went to seed on the back of industrial run off and dredging. That all stopped 15 years ago and this long river which snakes through our city is now a fishermans dream. Metre long threadfin salmon, Jewfish, Snapper, Flathead, Shark, Bream..they are all there. Benny went to cast for some live bait. You can tell a healthy city fishery when you pull in this. We saw two pods of dolfins swim by. Great afternoon. We were busted off three times but we were not really prepared for serious fishing today. Just sea trials. Still picked up a shovelnose shark and bream. Great afternoon, one of many to come. JackFNQ Posted February 18, 2016 Share Posted February 18, 2016 The smart way to own a boat. There is so much to like about a setup like this. Just need some liquid rubber latex glue in those tubes. I find it gives the crocs up here in fnq a better chew, and heathy for their gums. Talk to a friendly inflatable boat repair shop man, know what I mean...
