I tried bovida in my smaller humidor but use beads in larger storage. Recharging the bovedas is more of a pain and my beads have done the job well. I use mesh bags that are for aquarium filters to hold the beads then put them in their own small tray. Add distilled water by the capful or a small spray bottle then move the beads around. still nice white color after 2+ years.

Don't let your cat use the KL when it is in your humidor.

I have written tirelessly about desiccants and silica gel, silica and other based adsorbents over many years on this forum. There are a lot of differences in products, and huge differences between eng

unsented kitty litter. works like a charm.

Does anyone use HF beads in the nylon mesh bag they sell? I bought 1.5 lbs of beads for my wineador, and three bags. Once I put the beads in the bags, I could not tell if they were getting any distilled water I was spritzing on them or not, i.e. couldn't see through the bag to see what percentage, roughly, of the beads were clear.

How do you get around this? Don't use bags?

Also having the same trouble with the tubes.

I just get my glasses! :D

I use the bags and I can tell when they need water - I notice when they're opaque and just give the outer surface a spritz. Shake 'em out to avoid water, and stick the bag back in!

A have a hygrometer that I trust fairly well, so add water when it gets too low (58 or so). I'm using a cooler, so it holds the moisture pretty well.
