2.5 years on this one. Gorgeous wrapper.

Thick rich oily smoke coats the palate.

Sweetness, spice, cedar notes from the onset.

Vanilla, shortbread, hints of walnut.

Full side of medium strength for a Habanos.

Perfect draw, burn, construction.

A solid 93 with room to improve.

Never tried a Sir Winston before but I'm really looking forward to picking some up when they become available. They seem to be a fan favourite around here.

Nice review. Made me even more interested in trying them.

Love SWs. Have shied away from that size lately though. Your description of flavors has me craving one. Will need to revisit one soon.

Nice review, Mike! You are making me want to burn one. Not that I ever need an excuse to burn a SW.

I was very fortunate to pick up a box of Sir Winston a little over a year ago. So far I've smoked only four, one at Chrismas and three where there's been cause to celebrate for one reason or another - but to be frank they were the celebrations left at the bottom of the bucket.

For me a Sir Winston sits in the realm of only one other cigar and that is the Cobiba Robustos Supremos LE 2014. They are are certainly Christmas cigars. Seldom do I have time to partake on a 2 hour festival of flavour that's required to marvel at the splendour of these two cigars other than at Christmas. With a SW or CRS there's no need for a book, magazine, or any other optical stimulation than the cigar its self as the sight of the cigar is something to behold in its own right. I like to pair mine with two macchiato's in succession or a goblet of Durif.

For those enjoying a Christmas break in colder climates I hear you cry it's too cold to smoke a friendly monster of a cigar outdoors. Sir Winston and CBS come with an approval to smoke indoors at Christmas. I never smoke indoors but if any cigar is worthy of a home on a cold winters night these two are.

I look forward to smoking some of these beauties over the holidays.
