BCG is a different and in my opinion a better cigar. It produces way more of the flavors that I think of when I think of "Bolivar". It starts out smooth and mild and then really pick up for nice variety throughout the smoke. Flavors are along the lines of a refined PC or CJ.

Bolivar is my favorite marca and the BRC is my least favorite current production vitola,

That being said, there are probably many who would disagree. Why don't you get some fivers or a couple of each and try them before you buy an entire box.

Love the BRC. A go to stick of mine. Thanksgiving weekend, had a BCG for first time. Big hole in the center. Clipped it and saved for after breakfast smoke. Great stick too, the final third or so anyways.

Considering I was able to smoke the stick so early, I'd agree with Shlomo that it's lighter than the BRC.

Dang, if I hadn't burned two sticks already today, I'd pull another BCG to help add to this thread. :(

Different. BCG is lighter and more elegant, occasionally flat, but still has that meaty Bolivar core. BRC is stronger and occasionally harsher, with that meaty core.

I prefer BCG with darker wrappers. BRC with lighter.

My brc have pretty light wrappers I think. Very hard to taste for me.e73c36103f3455dd7cf04641bd51d9aa.jpg

Yeah that's a good idea! I really want to try and only smoke 2014's if I can.

I'm another BCG fan, and also find it, to my view, representative of the marque. I've found the BRC (and BBF) much less so and as such, they are my least favorite.

I'm another in the BCG camp. I love the BCG, but I can't stand BRC. ESO 2014 BCG have been tremendous cigars.

I can understand why many who love CGs won't like the RCs, but the RCs have several things going for them:

1.) They're more readily available than the CGs (and, in my experience, are usually of great quality).

2.) They don't need any aging *at all* to find their stride, although they certainly do benefit from a bit of a rest. I'm smoking through a box of May 14 right now, and they're wonderful.

3.) They really deliver a nice pop when you've only got an hour-ish to smoke.

4.) They've got a wonderful amount of grittiness. You'll like them, if that's your thing or you'd like a change of pace.

BCG is my vote. They smoke great from beginning to end! It one of those cigars that are finished before you know it and your like damn, that went way to fast!

I really like both of these cigars. Multiple box buys for me. With that said the BCG is a much more refined and nuanced cigar in my opinion...my cigar of the year (ESO OCT 14)

Unless you have super tiny hands, you have a BCG there, not BRC.

What do you think of flavours? You're the only one who matters....

Yeah they are bcg nor brc. I was thinking of ordering some brc because the flavors on the brg where very pleasant but too mild for me. I smoked nc cigars and just got into cc so my pallet is a little more rugged I guess.

Agreed. The BCG can have the problem that was recurrent with the Inmensas: sometimes it's flat, too mild, almost boring.
