Hey everyone,

Recently had to switch humis because my 75ct filled up. I noticed that in my 150 count that when I put in the boveda paks or gel that my 2 digital hydrometers say that it's like 70% rh. With absolutely nothing in my humi besides cigars it is about 70 62-64%. Should I just leave nothing in there or buy some 62% bovedas?

Thanks everyone :)

New or not, it needs to be seasoned if it hasn't been used and humidity hasn't been maintained in it

Okay thanks ill re season it

Just like human kind, each humidor is different.

You need to find the sweet spot. 62 is perfect for me. Put in your cigars. if it drops over time, chuck in some Boveda or beads.

Don't be anal about it. What works for one will not work for another. Just like raising kids.

But what about absolute water content? We must consider also the intrinsic absorption rate of fermented tobacco, yes?

I kid, I kid. But there are those....

I just recently got a 50 count humidor and seasoned it with boveda packs. After the 2 weeks I took the packs out and put my sticks and 69% packs in. The humidity was around 75 but after a week it's perfect at 68%. I did lose 1 stick to a split foot. My advice is after seasoning it again let it settle with just the boveda packs (whatever you choose) for a week then fill them up so you don't have splitting.

I wouldn't I would get like 4 boveda 84% packs and let it sit for 2 weeks.

Where would you suggest I keep my box of monte 2's then? I have no room. Maybe just buy a 62% pack and keepem in the box?

If you're thinking about tupperware, and you expect additional boxes to come in, I'd go straight for a modest cooler. I've got a 40qt cooler holding 200 sticks and 6 boxes, with some room to spare, while I wait for additional proper humidor capacity to arrive and come online.
