luv2fly Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Just got them in. I know they are not "premium" cigars. I just smoked one ROTT. These are the best Cheap and Cheerful I have found. My only reservation is that I spit tobacco pieces during the smoking. Great flavor, totally Cuban and I love that. I know that short filler will yield the parts. Bottom line is that this is a great Cheap and Cheerful. I am very happy with these. Any thoughts from our members would be great! 1
sactochris Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I've enjoyed the few that I've smoked. At some point I will buy a bundle.
anjimj Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I bought two boxes recently and will smoke them over most non cuban cigars anyday.
NSXCIGAR Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Try using a v cut Or a punch cut. I've been having the same experience w/ 2013 JLP Petit Cetros. Just loving them. 90+ points in my opinion for a buck fifty each. Can't tell you how many premium marcas I've smoked in the last 5 years that don't even measure up to these. They're not pretty to look at and they can feel a bit dodgy but they deliver the goods with good burning and decent draws. The last Quintero I smoked was a 2012 box of Panetelas or Londres Extra (can't recall) and they had a lackluster hay-like taste. Certainly tasted like sub-optimal tobacco. Not unsmokeable but maybe 85 points. Have been hearing good things about these Favoritos. Only problem is they're twice as expensive as the JLP which I'm extremely happy with. If I'm going to spend 3$+/stick I find it hard to resist spending the extra dollar per for PL Montecarlos or RG Perlas, or even HU Majestics or Half Coronas. I know the Favoritos are bigger, but...I prefer smaller cigars most of the time anyway.
El Presidente Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 One of the best recent Habanos releases. They are cheap, they deliver what you expect (most times)......solid Cuban tobacco flavour.
luv2fly Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 Thanks...will try a V cut or Punch. Good call.
GavLew79 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Nothing wrong with them. I bought five 5-packs for my stag do, shared them out between the lads and they went down well. I'd smoke these over any NC, any day.
AndrewNR Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 My go to. Good for everything! Everything else is an occasion or time permitts cigar, These I love.
dicko Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Thread bump. I tried one of these last night. What can I say it was very enjoyable. Mini review: great draw. burn was even. ugly as sin. wrapper had some nicks and rips but didn't unravel or affect the construction other than cosmetically. mild bodied. flavours of exotic wood, leather, cream and womans perfume. no spice. reasonably complex which surprised me. only downsides were the shrapnel in the mouth from the short filler tobacco and the ugly wrapper. Would score an 88. 1
LordAnubis Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 I didn't think Quintero said we're short filler? Anyway. Next time I come home I'll bring a box of petite quinteros for you mate. I quite like those!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Smoke6 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Punch for sure and you'll have zero problems. I love these things. My go to everyday cigar. Working on 4 boxes now and they have all been the same reliable cigar. I think I have had only a couple that were under filled but still smokeable.. At the price point offered, have to be one of the best values out there today. 1

This is how I realized as well. Still great bang for the buck though and probably one of the only inexpensive things my wife enjoys. lol Typically if you give her the choice between two things very similar one cheap and one expensive, without revealing the price of either, her internal price radar naturally gravitates her towards the one that hurts my wallet the most. *PS: It's just "locker room talk" honey, I don't mean any of it. *PSS: She's taken to reading the forum now that we are planning a trip to Cuba, so I had better mind my P's and Q's. lol 2
