LeafLover Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 What do you regret buying? My biggest regret is buying our formal dining room table and chairs. $12K. Yah, it's beautiful and all...but we've eaten on it probably 5 times in the last 9 years. What a waste!!! It wasn't an impulse buy either which often times results in remorse. The wife and I actually did our due diligence in shopping and comparing before buying it. We eat on our $500 table in our breakfast nook every day and serves us just fine.
LordAnubis Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Im a bit of a pedantic market research person. I can't say i've ever had buyers remorse, but i have changed my tactics and hence old items become useless to me. My more recent purchase is a Tom Bihn Aeronaut 45. I had a 65 litre backpack a few years ago, used it a few times then went to a 45L backpack as i began to go carry-on luggage only for my travelling. That's been great for the last two years but the toploading is annoying me. So now purhcased a front loading bag. The quality and versatility of the Tom Bihn bag seems pretty good. It's been delivered to my house in Perth so when i get back it'll be there waiting for me.
dicko Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I bought a jeep cherokee 2008 kk last year. I had wanted a 4wd for a while and a friend of a friend was selling at a cheap price as they were moving interstate. Because of the good price and it was in the general ballpark of what i wanted (i.e. a 4wd) I bought it. However it didn't end up suiting what i really wanted. Too small for touring and the nice leather and carpets got dirty when camping/4wd'ing. it has woeful clearance. once you let the tyres down that's even worse. It was the petrol and was thirsty and didn't have much grunt in the soft stuff. the low range 4wd is not really low range it seems the same as the high range 4wd to me. i know there is some fans who get lift kits etc but that all money. it is good around town though and Gemma has decided to keep it as her car. I now have a hilux and what a great car for camping/4wd. throw wet wetsuits in the tray, throw dirty camp bbq's and tents in the tray back no worries. we keep our clean stuff...clothes, fridge and food on the backseat. it has heaps of grunt in the sand cannot get bogged. diesel is economical for long drives. pretty comfortable as well. so in terms of buyers regret i ended up having to buy 2 cars!
Orion21 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 An investment property in Qld. Lost a shitload of money having to sell it after divorce. Let's dive a bit further into this one... You pick the house, but truth be told your subconscious is just screaming to pick the Ex! Divorce is a dirty business. I'll burn my next cigar to your future/current happiness. Cheers brother.
polarbear Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Spent a lot of money on boxes of Non Cuban cigars when I was first starting out I was trying to try everyone I could so I would buy 2 or 3 boxes a month, smoke 4 out of each box and then move on Most ended up buried in the bottom of my humidor and eventually aged out (anyone want to buy some 10 year old Alec Bradleys) I should've gone with samplers and 5 packs or just stuck to CCs
jabster Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I have a list of stocks longer than my arm. Particularly the one that was bought for 20c went to $2 then crashed to 9c. Maybe that should be called not selling remorse!
Fosgate Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 01 Lincoln LS V8. I was a car salesman at the time and one rolled in. I called and got my payoff on my Tahoe. Looked like I had 2 payments left on it. Sweet! I'm thinking. I'll pay it off and have a good winter and outdoors vehicle and a sweet ride for the spring and summer. When I went down to the bank to write my check to pay it off I discovered Wells Fargo had misquoted....by a lot. I was so mad. The good thing was it motivated me to sell a ton of cars and I couldn't play much, but man that left a sour taste in my mouth.
Destino30 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 2007 Audi Q7 4.2 - bought new and was the first year for this model. Boy did that show. Owned it for almost 8 years and, after the warranty expired, it seems like we paid for it all over again with all of the repairs, many silly electrical issues. Finally had enough and bought a MDX - way more reliable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
