archosaur Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Sparked one of these up from a box obtained earlier this year. Construction: Pretty much flawless. Beautiful colorado wrapper, even bunch, firm without feeling too tight or dense, the kind of cigar you know is going to smoke well. Cold draw confirms the above. Aroma at cold: Barnyard, hay, black tea. 1st third: Opens with a little pepper, sweet almond paste. Sweet almond turns to a barrage of meaty roasted nuts, pepper comes and goes. Good, clean quality tobacco. 2nd third: I start to notice the nicotine. Overall the body is medium-full. Espresso with a dash of cream joins the roasted nuts. A bit of warm vanilla here and there. Loooong finish. No complaints right now. 3rd third: Shows some youth. A few rough edges appear, the flavors go dark - bitter coffee, a touch of charred wood, licorice. Put it down at just over an hour. I give it an 89. I did not get enough of the vanilla or honeyed sweetness that I know will develop with some age. Will revisit in 6 months but this feels like a cigar that wants 5 years down to really shine. 4
Habana Mike Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Thanks for the review. I just tapped in to a box with the same code, needs some rest but not bad now, not bad at all!

raymond5737 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Good Review! Will you try them again in 2 1/2 years or are they so young that they need to be down at least 5 years? I bought 2 boxes of CoRos last year and am dipping in at least once a month expecting something to change but it never seems to change much. May be a bit smoother but still dull flavor. So you are saying that there will be a metamorphosis in 5 years, so just lay them down and leave them alone? Raymond

Could be 5 years, but that is just a wild guess at this point. I hope it is far sooner, as I don't have enough storage capacity to age cigars indefinitely!
Destino30 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Late to the game here, but thanks for the review. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
