gr8eman Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Was lucky enough to get an old box of LGC Medaille d'Or No 1, and it has a very strange date with the box code. Could this be proof that the Y2K scam was real?
Colt45 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 It would translate to Partagas factory November 1999. But supposedly, the OSU code would not have started being used until some time in 2000. I imagine that overlap is not out of the question, but I've really no hard idea.
Lotusguy Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Overlap is not uncommon - read cubancigarwebsite
JohnS Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Yes, 1999 was a transitional year for date coding. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/info-packaging.aspx#Date_Codes

BonVivant Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 EAT CCUA is a code that was seen on plenty of boxes = 04/99 changed to OSU in June 1999 ( never seen MAY 1999 with OSU, so far) Lots of 1999-2000 LGC MdO no.1s are popping out of the blue - five years ago nobody would even consider those - -------- now, different story - time is the only thing that plays tricks on memory

Lotusguy Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 You just need to hand pick them Don't have that option when ordering online... 1
