We will post some details early in the new year but I will give a heads up party.gif

Rob Fox and I will be doing a cigar dinner at Roosevelt's Steakhouse in Shanghai (Saturday 2nd of July 2016) in conjunction with owner George Chen. We are looking for a second venue in either Shanghai or Beijing on Tuesday the 5th (Cigar dinner or straight tasting) so if locals of either city have a Cigar club/restaurant that would like to be part, shoot me a PM.

Ken Gargett may be joining us representing a major wine house so that should be a hoot.

For those in the region, pen those dates in your diary. We will send invitations out in the new year. ok.gif

Well, I'll definitely need to put this one on my calendar. Only problem might be that it's the 4th of July holiday weekend in the US. I remember meeting you and Lisa in Shanghai, I think back in '09, and it was at Roosevelt's as well. Here's a picture of us from that night in the cigar room at Roosevelt.

That was a good evening. I just got back from Shanghai a couple of weeks ago, smoked at a bunch of different places. Constellation Bar is a good place for just drinks and smokes. For food and smokes, there's a new happening spot called the Nest. And then there's Char, with an unbelieveable view of the Bund and the skyscrapers across the river. I posted a photo I took from the patio bar where we were smoking in another thread. here's that picture of the view:

July will be very hot in Shanghai by the way. Your last trip it was in November (well, the last trip that I saw you there), so the weather was perfect.

Nino, thanks for posting this. On my trips to Beijing I have driven by this place many times but have yet to go in. How is it? What is the selection and prices like? I will be in BJ in October for a few days and may check it out.

I like the place a lot and the cigars & service are first class.

The owner is a good friend of mine residing in Havana with a great passion for cigars.

Here's a report from a visit long time ago - it's in German but you can get an idea by the pictures.

China is one place i want to go but pre travel visa requirements mean i can't logistically sort it out... maybe this will be the kicker for me to get a second passport and do the china russia mongolia gauntlet.

July 2 pretty much guarantees no U.S. Participation :(

LMAO, thats a photo form a coupe of years ago Nino :-)

There are a LOT of smoking restrictions now in place in China, that would need checking out.

China in July, well Beijing and in Particular Shanghai are hot n sweaty. You would need indoor venues.

If you know James Wu, he has cigar bars/clubs in HK and China, he maybe able to give pointers.
