DoubleDD Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I don't know how old they are and have zero knowledge of what they may besides La Escepcion. It is wrapped in cellophane. I checked CCW and couldn't match it up with anything there. Does anyone have any knowledge about them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CUBANO Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 That a great find. Looks like it's pipe tobacco but I'm not sure
Puros Y Vino Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Looks like pipe tobacco. Recently saw one for sale on Ebay circa 1923. Is that where you got it?
oliverdst Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I think CCW works just with Post-Revolution cigars.
DoubleDD Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I got this from a friend. He knows I'm into Cuban cigars and thought I'd like it. When I saw it I knew about La Escepcion but had no clue what is inside.

The tobacco might be smokeable if stored properly over the years.
DoubleDD Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I searched under pipe tobacco and found the above info. Pretty cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Smallclub Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 It's actually very common. Many LCDHs in Europe have it (or had it until recently), and the Partagas one as well. I don't like it, it tastes like cheap tobacco, with an unpleasant vegetal note, and it burns hot.
DoubleDD Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I don't plan on smoking it. I'll probably put it with other cigar collectibles I have. If it were cigars I might consider it but I have no clue how it has been stored.
Thrassos Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 It is a 'nice to have' and if stored properly it can be decent for a pipe smoker. It's easy to tell if it's still smokeable, just smell and if you still smell a nice tobacco flavor it's probably still ok. Had a few of these myself recently but they smelled like old paper, gave them away to someone who wanted to try and smoke it anyway...
