Ken Gargett Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 i know there are some fans of this cult gin. they are giving masterclasses which will be a lot of fun. they will sell out. if you are in sydney, go along but say nothing nice to stu. his ego is big enough already. 96 reasons to attend one of three new Four Pillars Gin masterclasses This week we received a very nice review from a man with one of the best palates in Australia, Huon Hooke (a very awesome 96/100). If you missed it, you can read his short but sweet tasting notes here. And now we’re thrilled to announce three new opportunities to join us at a gin masterclass if you want to find out about Four Pillars. If you haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting our founders, hearing our story and tasting our range of award-winning gins... it's a great way to spend an afternoon or evening, we think! Melbourne Masterclass: Wednesday 19 August The last one sold out quick-smart. So Melbourne, you've got another chance to join our distiller Cameron Mackenzie for a masterclass in all things gin at the uber-cool Work-Shop space in Fitzroy! You’ll get to taste the award-winning Rare Dry Gin, the “gunpowder proof” Navy Strength Gin, and Solera No.3 of our Barrel Aged Gin - plus maybe some Four Pillars #ginnovation too. Tickets are $110 for the 90 minute talk and tasting (6.30-8.00pm). And that includes a bottle of Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin (RRP $75) and a jar of our orange marmalade (RRP $9) to take home too. Distillery Masterclass: Saturday 5 September So this is the exciting one, the masterclass we're only telling our fans about. The first in our new distillery in Healesville. Sometime in August we'll be opening the doors to our new home - a world-class distillery operation and distillery door, in the heart of the Yarra Valley. That's the plan anyway! So by the first weekend in September (which happens to include Fathers' Day), we'll be ready to take the first masterclass on a tour of the space, and to meet Wilma in her new home. Cameron will be more than a little excited... As well as the tour, Cameron will lead the class in a tasting of all three of our award-winning gins – plus there might be some other projects to have a look at too... He'll talk about the botanicals we use, the distilling process, and even give a little bit of a potted history of the great craft of gin distilling. 3.00pm to 4.30pm, 2a Lilydale Road, Healesville. Tickets are $110 for the 90 minute tour, talk and tasting. And it includes a goodie bag to take home with a bottle of Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin (RRP $75) and a jar our legendary marmalade (RRP $9). Sydney Masterclass: Wednesday 14 October And finally Sydney, it’s back. Your chance to join Stuart Gregor for a Four Pillars Gin masterclass on the craft of distilling and the very fine art of cocktail making. This masterclass at the fabulous Work-shop in Redfern includes a Four Pillars Gin and Fever-Tree Tonic to start, a tasting of all three award-winning gins, and Stu will give a little bit of a history on gin and distilling plus some insights into the current flourishing of the Australian craft spirit industry. We'll finish up with the good stuff: cocktails. Why gin is the spirit of choice for all the best bartenders, and how to make the Four Pillars favourite, a Negroni. You’ll get to sample one of these perfect cocktails before heading on to whatever the rest of your Wednesday night holds (the first stop of which might be the Eat Art Truck-curated food truck parked outside on Cleveland St). 6.30pm to 8.00pm, Cnr Cleveland & Eveleigh St, Redfern. Tickets are $55 and include a welcome G&T, tasting of Four Pillars Rare Dry, Barrel Aged and Navy Strength gins, some nibbles to keep your strength up, and a sample of the Negroni cocktail.
Jeremy Festa Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Just got the email. Should be a very nice time.
MIKA27 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 I'm not a huge Gin fan but do use it when I make a Negroni. Should be a good masterclass though
