El Presidente Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Romeo y Julieta Cedros de Luxe Number 2 ABR 2014 : Throwback Review. A decade + ago I was a fan of the Cedros De Luxe Number 3 (Petit Corona) but drifted away. So much better shinier stuff. The Credros de Luxe number two never did it for me. A lighter version in flavour than the 3 and not my style. I haven't had one in years. So the past 10 days I have had a dozen. No, I didn't open a box. In full honesty they were a return from a country in North Africa I hadnt heard of. They arrived back in a pretty bad shape but a few months in the humidor and I thought they wouldl be a decent fishing cigar. Had one, had two...a near half box down and I am here. I didn't expect to like them. In fact maybe 3 of the 12 have been good but not great. The rest great. 92 point cigars almost across the board with some going 94. Sweet cream in the main. Touch...just a touch ...or cherry, cedar, ...sometimes the sweetness is so full bore that it makes you stop. I love Coronas but due to sheer hubris/stupidity/laziness I had stopped paying attention to these. Not sure why. I will try not to repeat the error again, 2
habanolover Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Nice review Rob, never tried those but like the sound of that profile!
bobsled Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 So do you think that having been abused has made them good smokes, or are other boxes tasty as well.....
Professor Twain Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I've never smoked these but have become a huge fan of the RJ Coronitas en Cedro. I tried them mainly because they were so inexpensive. To my palate they have a lot of bold pepper and smoke well without aging. They have become one of my go to cigars. Any experience with these and how they compare to the Cedris de Luxe? You describe a much more subtle and smooth profile than what I have had with the CeC.
JohnS Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Returns that are 92 to 94 points each. I love happy accidents just as these cigars have turned out!

golfdude888 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Ooh, sweet milk coffee profile - I like the sounds of that Rob !
Smallclub Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I have always liked this corona, and the No.1 (cervantes) as well. My problem with these cigars is that they're so mild, they always leave me wanting more…
