I have about half my stock wrapped really well in plastic wrap (generic saran wrap from Publix) and have them stored in a 65% rh coolidor. Does anyone else do this or have good/bad experiences in doing it with your cigars?

I've an experiment working with Boli Gold Medals. 2006 boxes, one wrapped in saran, another wax paper, third in foil, fourth in shrink wrap and a fifth left as is. Figured I'd go 10 years and see how they fared. Check back next Spring!

Drool!

So did you let them acclimate then wrap them circa 2006/7?

Just took a look, actually all 2008 boxes. Guess I've got a couple years to go!

If you were comparing a sealed box to an unsealed box you would likely see a difference in 8 years, but your comparison is much more subtle. Did you put them all in the same corner of the humi? I wonder if packing/stacking location could outweigh the effect of the different permeabilities? :cigar:

Yep, all stacked together so pretty much the same ambient conditions. I may just have to break in to them sooner that later.

Also have a box tucked away in the FOH locker.

I must say the unwrapped box has already had a little damage done to it already.....

Any update on the experiment, Mike?  It's coming up on 2 years later...
