I am not a big wearer of Guayaberas as most look crap on me lmao.gif

However while in london I saw Stefan wearing a fantastic Guayabera of the highest quality. I understand the person making them is Canadian. Stefan purchased is third hand from memory and didn't have the contact details. The picture is not great, but if anyone knows the brand and some contact details please post it here as my searches have come up blank.

On the subject of Guayaberas, from your experience (what you have seen and/or wear), what is the best quality/design that you have seen. Post a few pics if you can + a link or contact details.

We have FOH Cuba November 2016. it would be great to have some guayaberas made for those attending if it is financially feasible party.gif

Prez, I don't know if they are the best but I have a couple Guayaberas from cubavera.com. They are comfortable and used them a lot on cigar herfs with friends. Plenty of pockets for cigars, cutter, and lighter.

Hi Pres,

I recognize that logo. I believe it belongs to Marc Copti from Montreal. I met him at the Partagas event this past November in Havana.

I email him when I returned home and he followed up but I got the impression this was a startup project for him. He said: "I'll keep you posted as soon as we launch the website." but I've never heard back from him.

Maybe shoot him an email and inquire about the shirts. I'd be interested in one too.

Cheers,

The one you mention looks pretty sharp - kind of more canvas than light cotton / linen. If you search guayabera here on the forum, you might find a few possibilities. This might be a good place to start - and local too:

Well I'm a big big guy so most of my shirts come from Omar the tent maker. The few Guayaberas I have are ok far as quality (55% Cotton/45% Polyester) and are not very expensive, but have served the purpose many many times. They came from http://www.davisbigandtall.com, if I remember correctly they were $50 to $75 USD for my 6XLT.

Love them. I have white, black, peach and babyblue all long sleeved, some with cuffs.

In the Carribean they are accepted as formal evening wear with black dress pants and shoes. Make sure your outfit is better quality than the waiter if you go for white guayabera/black pants.

I have 3 that I got in Cuba. Black, white and white with black stitching and buttons (that one's my bitchinest)

Made in Cuba, the brand is Criollo. They are made of linen.

What I like about them is that they don't display a logo anywhere on the shirt other than the inside collar. I don't like logos on clothes.

There is a shop in the little mall at the front of the Habana Libre hotel with a good selection.

There is another shop on Calle Obispo near Mercaderes.

Stay away from the 15-25cuc versions in the markets, they're polyester and cheaply made.

The Criollo ones are 50-60 cucs. Not especially cheap but they hold up well.

Here's the white with black stitching at the LCDH dinner this year.

Here's my first white one a few years ago. Served me well for my arrival on the Cuban dance scene.

I just received one for my bday. Great quality. Very sharp.
