Popular Post 99call Posted August 21 Popular Post Posted August 21 Just ordered a case of Familia Deicas 'Licor De Tannat' 2020. After tasting it for the first time last Sunday at a restaurant. Completely blown away by this stuff, always loved Tannat, but had no idea they produced a port style wine. Super complex, the spine of a fabulous port (figs, chocolate, cassis, plums etc), but with some really unusual savoury aspects like linseed oil, herbals, exotic woods. Anyone else ever tried this stuff? 2 3
Popular Post LLC Posted September 12 Popular Post Posted September 12 Some champagne with a great charcuterie board and then an outstanding 1998 Chateau de Beaucastle. Still complex but subtle with the age. 6

A bright style that's very enjoyable, but needing just a bit more complexity to bump them into the big leagues in my book. 1

I have tasted that one, just once. Memory isn't perfect as it was many years ago, but if I recall it was deep and rich and potent, almost incandescent. Impressive! 1
