El Presidente Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I will have the NFL draft on the background tomorrow. Let us know who you think your team is shooting for. During the course of the draft, let us know how they have gone. Happy drafting
partriar Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Pretty excited about the Draft today.... New England Patriots! Bringing it home... 1
tmac77 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Unless L. Williams drops to 5th pick I think that the redskins should trade down.
JMacSr Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 My Saints should get hometown boy La'el Collins from LSU Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
brutusthebuckeye Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 The draft is like the Super Bowl for Browns fan...it's the only thing we have to look forward to..lol... And most of the time they pick some bum or a guy with substance abuse problems.. 1
skalls Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 First draft in 10 years that I'm skipping. Busy weekend for me and I don't want to skip going to the avengers... Weak excuse. I've heard some rumors that the vikings are shopping patterson, but I suspect we're going after one of the cornerbacks that's available.
Garrettbuckeye Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 The draft is like the Super Bowl for Browns fan... I couldn't agree more! Last year I had a pit in my stomach thinking they might draft Johnny Dbag. I was so relieved when they traded out of that first pick. Then... When they traded back up in the first round... Before they even announced the pick... I'm screaming at the TV "No! No! No!" This year, I don't know what to hope for. I don't want Winston... And we probably have no chance. Good. Mariotta? Whatever. He's not a jacko... Sure. 2 linemen in the 1rst round? Whatever. Does it even matter? I guess it does matter. Somebody's career is about to get messed up! 2
in0gravity Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I think this year is really interesting especially where Mariota is going to get picked. Also the news on La'el Collins, Shane Ray, Randy Gregory. They could fall maybe to the second round (not so much Collins but the others how knows). As for my team the Broncos, no idea what they are going to do.
Ken Gargett Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 My Saints should get hometown boy La'el Collins from LSU Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk they can probably wait till the 3rd for him now. i see one view it won't affect him much. be very surprised. you really want someone who gets tied up in a murder case, innocent or not, and might not be available for the season?
Ken Gargett Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Unless L. Williams drops to 5th pick I think that the redskins should trade down. i have a horrible feeling that if he drops to 5, we'd still trade. though if we did, surely they'd get a lot more than the standard formula. love to see him a skin but i doubt it. seems a lot of interest in beasley and fowler - i would not be adverse to either of them. but it does look more and more like they will trade down. of course, they need a team wanting to trade up. i suspect if the browns pull the trigger, they go higher. hard to see mariotta still there at 5. i must say i tend to agree with charlie casserley - stars win games for you, not numbers. i know we need depth but unless you do get 12 and 19, which could give you two starters, not sure i want to see them go the stockpiling picks route.

During the course of the draft, let us know how they have gone. Happy drafting question for you - who do you want bucs to take with pick 1?
anacostiakat Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 If Washington can trade the number 5 without going too far down in the first round and get say an additional second rounder that might make sense. But they seriously need linemen. Especially on offense or a pass rusher on defense. I'll be fine if they stick with #5.
bacalao Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Fingers crossed my Dolphins draft someone that can pass a piss test this year. 1
SmittyinAZ Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 As an east coast niner fan, nothing we can do in the draft to replace all that we lost this year. Won't be watching. NHL playoffs on at same time, much more exciting than waiting 15 minutes for these billionaires to make up their minds. Only fun part is watching Kiper and Mcshay argue.
rbelcastro Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I am hopeful that Kevin White makes it to #11 so my Vikings can draft him.

Ken Gargett Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Sarcasm doesn't carry over to print. In all Saints need receiver, OLine, or DB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk quite possibly but why do you think my comments were intended as sarcasm? we'all all know in a day or two but meanwhile, all is speculation - a bit different to sarcasm. this is one report from this morning. has him doing a hell of lot worse than 3rd round. La’el Collins could go undrafted unless exonerated Stacy Revere/Getty Images Reports indicate that La'el Collins, one of the best offensive line prospects in the draft, could end up not being selected at all. By Andrea Hangst La’el Collins is considered one of the best offensive line prospects in the 2015 NFL Draft. The former LSU player was expected to go in Rounds 1 or 2, but now that may all change due to a murder investigation that may not even prove to involve him. Collins’ pregnant ex-girlfriend, Brittany Mills, was shot and killed on April 24 in Baton Rouge, La. Though not a suspect in the murder at this time, Baton Rouge authorities want to meet with Collins to glean any information they can about Mills’ murder and who may have killed her. On Tuesday, Collins’ attorney Jim Boren told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Collins will meet with Baton Rouge police, saying “We took the investigation seriously. We’ve tried to rule him out as a suspect. We’re going to provide that information to the police, and ultimately [Collins] will sit down and talk to them. But the timing is poor.” Boren added: "We have identified where La’el was the day the lady was murdered to establish he was nowhere around. We have offered to give names, witnesses who can vouch for his whereabouts that day until after the woman’s body was discovered. We believe that when [police] have verified that information, that they will rule him out as a suspect in the homicide, just as I believe he should be.” Pro Football Talk reported on Wednesday that Collins would be leaving Chicago, the site of the 2015 draft, to head back to Louisiana to talk to authorities. No date for that meeting has yet been set, though the NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported on Thursday that it will be scheduled for after the draft, which is bad news for Collins’ hopes to get picked up by a team on Thursday—or at all. Breer also reported that the “lack of closure” on Collins’ role, if any, in the investigation has led to “several teams” staying completely away from drafting Collins this year. Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper has heard the same chatter, reporting on Thursday that, “There has been increasing talk in league circles that Collins neither draftable nor employable until/unless he is fully exonerated of any wrongdoing in the matter by law enforcement.” Alper tries to spin this development into a positive, saying that Collins could have a chance to pick his team should be an undrafted free agent rather than a drafted player. But the timing of this investigation couldn’t have been at a worse time. Even if Collins was nowhere near the scene of the murder, as his attorney contends, the fact that this matter won’t be resolved until after the draft means this could cost Collins millions of dollars.

Ken Gargett Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 so we have leonard williams fall to us at 5. do we jump all over that? why on earth (and i am holding back language that would see me banned for life) would we do that. instead, we pick a bloke we could have traded down for and still got. find who did this and have them strung up. sure, he'll be a good player from all accounts and help with what we need but the bloke that they say good easily have gone 1 bar the QB bias has been passed. you reckon every skins fan won't be following his career. the only place the morons in charge of the sins can go is to the qld reds.
anacostiakat Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I suspected, after the free agency moves to bolster the defense that the Redskins would pick an offensive lineman. Totally fine with this pick. This guy is a monster and sorely needed. BTW, both networks coverage was horrible. It was torture watching and as soon as my team picked I was history!

It was torture watching and as soon as my team picked I was history! i think he should be a good player and contribute for years. and we did need that. so a good pick. but you still don't pass williams, surely? at the very least, they could have traded down and still got him in the top ten. it will hurt.
wabashcr Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 at the very least, they could have traded down and still got him in the top ten. Not necessarily. All indications were that the Giants were going to take him at 9, so that really only leaves you with three possible trade partners. Jets were happy to take Williams at 6, but wouldn't have paid to switch spots to take him. The Bears were clearly going WR at 7, so they didn't have any need to move up. I could see them switching with Atlanta at 8, so the Falcons could take Williams. I'm sure Washington made the phone call, but there probably wasn't enough in it for them to make the trade. They got the guy they wanted, may have to pay him a little more than they'd like, but not much else they could have done.

"all indications"? do you mean endless mock drafts because no one has ever, as i understand it, got one of those fully right. 'all indications' were that the skins would take a pass rusher. didn't happen. all indications were that williams was extremely unlikely to get as far as the skins. "the bears were clearly going..." again, did you have inside knowledge? there were plenty of other suggestions about what the bears might do. you are, with respect, working this backwards. there was a good possibility but unless someone from the giants is leaking to the skins, they had no real knowledge. it may have even been that the jets were keener on scherff than they were on williams. we will never know most of this stuff. with respect, this is nothing but 20/20 hindsight. the amount of rubbish that gets written in the lead-up is staggering. it is entertaining and some of it is more reasoned than the rest. i think scherff is not a bad pick and will be a serious contributor for many years in a position of need. but if williams is anything like the player 'all indications' suggest he is, then we have missed a rare opportunity.
