Yes, and it's valuable since it's "documented".

I only have a problem with the fact that the ambient RH of the place where the drybox stays and where the cigar will be smoked, plus the evaluation of the cigar itself (long, short, a bit too light or too heavy in hand, etc) is never taken into account…

I enjoy a view of the forest....others the trees....and some.....each leaf. I have no problem with that. ;)

Regards.

You know I've been noticing some cigars going out in the final third or being noticeably harder to keep lit.

Didn't think it could be the ambient RH

Bovedas, or 60% beads, or even Kitty litter: you must set a "drydor". Anyway, if you smoke outside, you will probably still have problems with long panatelas, DCs, churchills, etc.

What would be the best?

I used to smoke my cigars at 70% in dry European rooms without any problems.

I recently moved to the Caribbean, the humidity at my porch is 80% or higher and the cigars taste like crap. Should I use 62% or 65% Bovedas?

In your case you'd want to store the cigars with 62% Bovedas. But more importantly, note the temperature where you store your cigars, you'd want that as cool as you can get it as your ambient humidity is high already.

The fridge or the freezer is my only option.

No, you can't use the fridge for storage (forget about the freezer), it's too dry. The goal is to stay below "beetle hatching" temperature, not to border coldness.

I always shoot for 65% and 65 degrees. I let my RH get as low as 62 and as high as 68 before I become concerned. I would never store at 72, short term or long, but that's just preference.

I'm with with Fireant here for my CCs, although my lower limit is 63%. If the box is running at 68% its only because I've just added distilled water to the beads and I'll wait a few days before smoking anything. I find smaller rings can get harsh at lower humidity. So the humidors live in my basement which is 60 degrees in the winter and 68 in the summer. Also though weather is a BIG factor, if it is extremely humid out I often will skip the cigar as quite frequently it absorbs quite a bit by the last 1/8th and cannot be fully enjoyed.

For NCs 70% or a bit more seems best for what I stock which is Tatuaje, Opus, Anejo, 1926 and 1964.
