OZCUBAN Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 One of the worlds true statesmen,a man who followed his dreams and made Sigapore what it is today ,by no means an easy thing to do,I was only there last week but immensely impressed buy what he has achieved ,such visionarys are in short supply in this country R.I.P
kwsaw63 Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 When he became Prime Minister, Singapore was a third world country of slums, swamps, 15% unemployment and regular riots. Today, it has the highest GDP per capita in the world. "All I can say is, I did my best. This was the job I undertook, I did my best and I could not have done more in the circumstances. What people think of it, I have to leave to them. It is of no great consequence. What is of consequence is, I did my best" ...Lee Kuan Yew RIP Mr. Lee, your best was spectacular.
El Presidente Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 RIP Inspirational leader whose DNA is intertwined throughout all that is modern Singapore. I have often said that what Cuba needed was a Lee Kwan Yew.
bradbrennan Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Great that you, Werner, and your countrymen had a great leader to be so proud of!
