Cuba allows rare free public Wi-Fi

One should always remember to be a little cautious with any govt sponsored free WiFi. Take the sensible position that you are being monitored/recorded and type accordingly. Although this is probably a good approach with any public wifi network.

My last trip to Cuba, I didn't get on the internet once. I usually do for a few hours at some stage.

This time though, work was sorted out at home, I had my phone with me if anything came up.

I didn't miss it. I didn't even check mails.

Though to be honest, looking through the previous nights pictures each day was like browsing through a series of brand new websites..

It's great for Cubans though if they can get more access to the internet. I have heard from an ex-pat living there that private internet access costs $800-$900 per month.
